Batty Halloween Treats

I made these bat boxes with Lindt chocolates for my dentist’s office; they love getting treats. I used the lawn fawn tiny gift box die and some blue/gray shimmery cardstock for the base and added black cardstock pieces from the bat box add on die.

Another Boo to You

I don’t usually send out halloween cards but I couldn’t resist making another one using cute Taylored Expressions’ images.

this time I used a darker brown cardstock for the embossed brick and I actually finished the inside and created a matching envelope. all the images were watercoloured with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper; I used coloured pencils for the envelope.

Boo To You!

this is another card I created for the Taylored Expressions’ toffee and rainbow challenge in celebration of their 13th birthday.

the bright colour palette is my favourite so I used: pink, orange, yellow, green, teal and purple twinkling H2Os to watercolour the cute Spooktacular images, fussy cut from Arches hot press watercolour paper and attached with foam tape.

the TE brick embossing folder and Kraft cardstock were used for the background with frayed burlap distress ink and black soot distress ink for shading and splatters; the same inks were used to create the woodgrain on Kraft. the sentiments are from the TE Pennant Parade – Halloween set and those strips were attached with some purple mini brads.

Halloween Mouse

just one more late halloween card and then I need to start my Christmas cards.

this cute mouse is an image in the Penny Black ‘stack o’ lanterns’ stamp set, painted with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper. I’m playing along with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge October challenge of Anything Goes + optional: Too Cute To Spook.

Halloween Hedgie

My physio for my jaw seems to be reducing my creative time, but I’d like to share a late halloween card.

this adorable hedgie is an image in the Penny Black ‘bewitched’ stamp set, painted with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper. I’m playing along with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge October challenge of Anything Goes + optional: Too Cute To Spook.

Happy Halloween

i’m not really a big fan of halloween, especially the macabre, but i love an excuse to make a cute card for any occasion.

i painted this penny black image with twinkling H2Os and then covered it in glitter, which looks better in real life but the sun was hiding today.

Pumpkin Tag

i had some leftover watercolour paper scraps that i painted for halloween tags so i used those scraps to create this tag.

memory box pumpkins.linda @ snailzpace.wordpress.com

the tiny memory box pumpkin dies fit the scraps of watercolour paper perfectly and i die cut the ‘b’ from black glitter paper with the memory box typewriter alphabet die set. the die cuts were attached to some printed paper that was die cut with one of the memory box general store tags. to finish it off, i added some fuzzy black ribbon.

i’m playing along with these challenges:

Trick Or Treat Tags

i’m playing along with the Impression Obsession challenge and its ‘harvest hellos’ theme where they would like to see Fall or Halloween (or even those colors) projects.

i die cut the IO Trick or Treat Die (DIE342-A) to create these tags, using both the negative cuts and the positive. the backgrounds were made with distress inks and splattered with black twinkling H2Os – quick, easy and fun.

i’m also playing along with Scrapy Land Challenges #73 Anything with a Die and they also carry the IO die.

Trick Or Treat

i know it’s a bit early for halloween, but i can’t wait wait for the cooler fall weather and colours so i thought i’d create some fall cards only to discover i have more halloween stamps than actual ‘fall’ ones so that’s what i used.

for this clean and simple card, i watercoloured this cute penny black cat with twinkling H2Os, stamped the cobwebs and the sentiment and added yellow stickles to the dots and stars on his hat.

Animal Magic At Penny Black And More

card with mouse witch, two bats, one ghost and trick or treat sentiment
it’s the first sunday of the month and this is my DT card for the penny black and more challenge – our theme this month is animal magic, which explains how a mouse could trick or treat. i coloured with distress ink pads, cut him out and popped him with foam squares; i used coloured pencils on the bats and added flower soft to the broom. i’d love to see you play along – you can find the rest of the DT’s inspirational cards and all the rules on the blog. thanks for popping by.

Boo

card with scared black cat hanging on to jack o lantern balloon with three bats nearby
i love these penny black critters that float around hanging onto a balloon string. as usual, the images are watercoloured with distress inks with black flower soft added to all the solid parts of the cat, black stickles on the bats and glossy accents on the balloon. the sentiment strip is actually ribbon. thanks for popping by.

i’m submitting this to the following challenges:
allsorts – halloween
flower soft – to use flower soft on cards that feature orange and black
paper sundaes – i chose black and sparkle from the sundae bar

Scarecrow Treats

scarecrow holding bags of candy corn with trick or treat sentiment on bags

this sets a new record for the largest card i’ve ever made; it’s 5 3/4 by 6 1/2.” as usual, i watercoloured with distress inks and put stickles in the flower centre. the stampalot challenge this month is food and it doesn’t say the food has to be nutritious, so candy corn it is. i’m also submitting this to the paper sundaes halloween/fall challenge and the cupcake craft challenge to use buttons and bows. thanks for popping by.

Halloween Turtle

an orange card with black fuzzy ribbon at the top, a turtle carrying a pumpkin on its back and a sentiment that reads it's halloweeni made this in honour of linda, aka morningsun47, who was splitcoaststampers’ featured stamper on september 18. i cased this cute card and, as per the rules, changed at least three things: the occasion, sentiment and colours, plus i added the fuzzy ribbon. the image is watercoloured with distress inks. thanks for popping by.

Trick Or Mice Treats

a card with a halloween scene of spooky tree, bats, pirate cat and balloon flying mouse
i’ve been so busy with volunteer activities that i think this will be my only card for this week; i so admire those who can create more quickly. it took some time for me to create this scene for the penny black saturday challenge this week, but it was fun.

four of the images are penny black clear stamps, but the tree is a stamp design by my daughter and bought by a stamp company (they added the moon, unfortunately; wouldn’t  a row of spooky trees look awesome?). everything is watercoloured with distress inks and some glossy accents were added. thanks for popping by.

Daughter’s Spooky Tree

daughter's spooky tree design

my artist daughter drew this image and is one of four designs purchased by DRS Designs (they added the moon) and made into stamps after halloween last year, so this is the first time i inked it up.  of course i’m very proud and it was so nice to stamp and colour something so personal.  i watercoloured the tree, distressed the edges, sponged in the background and found this dark mottled scrap of paper to use.  thanks for popping by.  i’m submitting my card to these challenges:

Witch Will It Be?

witch with spider and halloween colours

the penny black blog’s first challenge was to scraplift a card made by Penny Black Designer Ashley Marcu; i used the layout.  this is the first year i purchased Halloween stamps; i rarely make cards for the occasion, but i couldn’t resist this set – it’s so cute!   i watercoloured the image, added floss, punched flowers and a spider brad.   of course i added stickles to the dots on her dress.  thanks for popping by.

Little Witch

little witch with wand in halloween coloursi love seeing all the different interpretations of the sketches over at Card Positioning Systems.  i created this card using this week’s sketch, number 180; although i thought it might be a bit early for a halloween card, i see a couple there already.  besides, this is a new penny black stamp that i couldn’t wait to ink up and watercolour with distress inks. thanks for popping by.
