Owl Wish You A Happy Birthday

the Lawn Fawnatics challenge 32 is a colour inspiration that i found to be quite challenging because it uses one of my least favourite colours: orange.

but i like blue and green so i persisted, although i’m not that happy with the results. for a change, i used cold pressed watercolour paper and i guess i’m too used to the hot pressed. anyway, i painted this cute owl from the new lawn fawn critter concert stamp set with tombow markers.

i die cut a second lawn fawn stitched circle tag, painted it with tombow markers and attached it to the back; the sentiment is from the tiny tag sayings set and the twine was a free gift with my last lawn fawn purchase.

i’m also playing along with the As You Like It Challenge and the Favourite Celebration (&why) theme. i don’t really like celebrations of any kind since my son passed away, but i do like making birthday cards for others because it’s a happier occasion for them and usually whatever i colour makes me smile.

Sweet Wishes

welcome to some new followers; i appreciate your interest!

this week’s simon says stamp challenge theme is tag it! i love how my team mate ellie stitches on her cards, but sewing is another hobby i gave up because of my RA so i’ve invested in some stitched dies. i used a paper smooches die to create this tag with bits of kaisercraft papers, added stickles to the dots on the cupcake and pearls to the punched flower and cupcake on the front:

i added stickles to the flowers on the back, punched and attached a pink flower and stamped the penny black ‘sweet wishes’ sentiment.

Penny Black And More December- Traditional Christmas

it’s the first sunday of december already and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge. this month we’d like to see ‘traditional christmas colours’ and remember, you can use any company’s stamp image for your focal point, just no digis.

i watercoloured this penny black hedgie (christmas critters 30-006) with distress ink pads, stamped the penny black text (christmas story 40-164) in white and used a sentiment from flonz (happy birthday greetings.wishes 354-08-014-0). i added some flocking to his hat and of course the scene needed some snow. thanks for popping by.
