12 Tags Of Christmas 2020 Day 8

well it’s a good thing the deadline for the tags is December 16. I’m up to Day 8 of Ellen Hutson’s Twelve Tags of Christmas 2020 Challenge.

December 8 – We Wish You a Merry Christmas with Emily Mydlowski. I was inspired by the figgy pudding lyrics, and Ardyth’s tag colours and how the snowmen popped against the background. I painted the Clearly Besotted penguin with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper, fussy cut, and attached it to the front of the mama elephant framed tags union square die. I stamped the inside with a Darcie’s sentiment.

Plum Pudding For Penguin

after creating multi-step cards, it was quite relaxing to just sit and colour this little cutie!

this one layer card features one of the cute Clearly Besotted penguins from the Christmas Plushies clear stamp set; I coloured with prismacolour coloured pencils.

I was inspired by these challenges:

Less Is More must be CAS– #433 – Festive One Layer Card
ABC Christmas, – Your Favorite Things/Z for Sleeping – colouring and creating cards with cute critters

Eat, Snooze and Be Merry

I was asked to make a holiday card for someone who loves sloths; luckily, Clearly Besotted released this sweet clear stamp set full of holidays sloths, eat snooze and be merry.

I wanted to create a cozy indoor spot for this sweet sloth. I painted the images with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper, fussy cut and popped them on foam tape; the base is a separate stacked image in the same set that I cut apart.  I used the Penny Black wood floors die with white card stock and some Penny Black festive and frosty paper for the wall. to finish it off, I added stickles to the tree and speech bubble.

I’m playing along with these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp  – Christmas
Cardz 4 Galz #135 Cute Christmas
November’s NBUS #20  never before played along and never used this sweet sloth stamp set

thanks for popping by.

Happy Easter

the Clearly Besotted Spring Plushies is a small stamp set but it’s perfect for spring and easter cards; it includes cute characters, spring florals, eggs and a sentiment. no surprise, it’s out of stock right now.

i sponged the sky with salty ocean distress ink and grass with mowed lawn distress ink. everything else was painted with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press w/c paper, fussy cut and popped on foam tape for dimension.

i’m playing along with the Allsorts #567challenge – Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue: my distress inks are 8 years old, my stamps are new, the sky is blue and i borrowed the sketch from Michelle, who designs for Clearly Besotted.

thanks for popping by and enjoy your day.

Snail Mail

i haven’t created much so far this year but it was fun to paint and make this little note card.

i painted this cute turtle from the Clearly Besotted ‘snail mail’ clear stamp set with twinkling H2Os, fussy cut, and popped him on foam tape with two layers of grass from the same set. i sponged the sky with distress inks.

i’m submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Besotted With Our Pets theme; my brother had a pet turtle.

12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge Day 12

this is my tag for day 12 of the annual Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas. down to the wire but i did it.

santa, elf and rudolph tags

inspired by Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, i love Julie’s creative tags. i ran out of time to fussy cut but i’d like to try tags like hers another time. all the painting i did took up most of my time and then computer problems yesterday so i couldn’t upload. then today i went to upload and the link expired too early but thank goodness i could email them in. that’ll teach me for creating at a snail’s pace. anyway, it was a lot of fun and i always learn something new.

as usual, i painted these clearly besotted images with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper, die cut with mama elephant bookmark die, lawn fawn sentiment and lawn fawn red sparkle twine.

thanks for popping by.

12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge Day 5

this is my tag for day 5 of the annual Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas.

penguin tag

Adelina’s Jingle Bells tag is so adorable with a sweet penguin scene so i was inspired to create a penguin scene too. i painted these cute Clearly Besotted penguins wth twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper, fussy cut and popped them on foam tape. i also liked Adelina’s extra tag and cute jingle bells so i added a mama elephant sentiment.

Floral Birthday Card

i needed a birthday card but i wanted to step outside of my comfort zone for a bit of a surprise.

i usually paint images for focal points but this time i cut the memory box verona bouquet from watercolour paper and sponged with distress inks. i also used distress ink for the magenta stencil background and stamped a clearly besotted sentiment.

Beach Buddies

today’s card is a clean and simple one featuring some cute characters that were fun to paint.

these cuties are from the Clearly Besotted seasonal lineup clear stamp set and i painted everything with twinkling H2Os on hot press watercolour paper. the image panel is popped on foam tape to finish off this smaller card.

Small Christmas Cards For Rudolph Days Challenge

it’s my turn to create a project for the August Rudolph Days Challenge, hosted by Maureen.

i was going to post each little card individually, but i think they show up well enough in the group photo.

i love using small images on tags but this time i made a set of six 3 inch cards and a box following this tutorial. these cute little images are from the Clearly Besotted ‘shake it up’ clear stamp set that i painted with twinkling H2Os on hot pressed watercolour paper and fussy cut. the pretty papers are from the Penny Black Christmas 6 x 6 Paper Pad Festive and Frosty and the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. i used a white gel pen for the snow and added glitter to each snow mound. the dots were made with a mama elephant border die.

remember you have until the end of the month to play along for a generous prize and, as always, it’s an anything goes christmas theme. i know, it’s summer and maybe it’s too early to think about holiday cards, but there are only 3 Rudolph Days Challenges before Christmas – will you be ready?

thanks for popping by.

Back To School

the previous post featured the tiny images on a bookmark but i used the larger images from the same set to create this card.

hippos going back to school card copyright linda snailzpace.com

these cute hippos from the Clearly Besotted being schooled clear stamp set were painted with daniel smith watercolours on hot press watercolour paper that i custom mixed and then fussy cut. i used the sunny studio staggered circles die and layered the piece over another white card stock piece that i sponged with mustard seed distress ink. i also sponged the left border of the white base. the sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted mini calligraphy stamp set.

i’m playing along with these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL
Simon Says Wednesday Back to School
Stamps & Fun = Creativity #351 SCHOOL
As You Like It Challenge Favourite  Bird Or Beast: i love birds but i have more beast images, mostly the adorable kind that make me smile.
