Ombre Christmas Card

the current prompt at the jingle belles is Ombre Colors of Christmas and this beautiful inspiration photo:

i started off by painting ombre die cut presents, but decided they were better suited to a birthday card, so that’s what it ended up as. i experimented with a few colour combinations and my twinkling H2Os until i was happy with my choices for a christmas card. as usual, i used my twinks on this penny black die that i inlaid against the snowflake embossed background.

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 2

i’m slowly creating tags for the ellen hutson’s 12 Tag of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge and i finally finished my tag for day 2.

i was inspired by both designers’ tags for Day 2; i like the dimension Kittie Caracciolo achieved and Dina Kowal’s watercolouring. i used twinkling H2Os as usual to paint what i’m calling a christmas rose and all the leaves and i created the woodgrain pattern with pumice stone distress ink.

Penny Black And More Mid May – Hello

we’re half way through may already, but you still have plenty of time to play along with the penny black and more challenge and our theme of punches and dies. visit the blog for some fabulous creations by my teamies.

i water coloured this cute penny black hedgie image from the hugs! clear stamp set with twinkling H2Os; here’s my tip for Top Tip Tuesday – use unexpected colours; a clay pot doesn’t have to be coloured in rust tones.

i used marianne designs dies for the flowers and leaves, a punch for the tiny flowers and die cut the hello with the memory box typewriter alphabet lower case set.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won from: Penny Black, Crafts U Love, All Occasion Dies and Stix 2.

the current jingle belles’ prompt is a sketch by stephanie; i had so many ideas of ways to use it, but i only had time for this one for now. one idea was to make a one layer card, but i had to trim off a flaw so i ended up matting it to make an A2 card. IO.PEACE i painted twinkling H2O watercolour washes, embossed with a leane creatief embossing folder that i love and sanded it to reveal the w/c paper. i added the impression obsession peace sentiment die cut from black mirri paper that i found easier to attach using my xyron sticker machine than a glue pen. the tiny dots are also cut with the mirri. one more christmas card for my stash.

this was so much fun to colour; i water coloured the image and die cut flower with twinkling H2Os and Winsor & Newton watercolour paints and the pretty purple papers are Cuddly Buddly digi papers.

Criss Cross Christmas Card

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used images from the cuddly buddly winter wonderland clear set; i love that the scene makes for a quick card. i stamped the deer on watercolour paper, coloured with distress inks, fussy cut and attached to the front. for the inside pull out, i used one of the two sentiments included in the set and lightly sponged with distress ink.

i stamped two of the snowflake stamps from the winter wonderland with white ink, added some dots of snow and used the other sentiment included in the set. i watercoloured the deer with distress inks, fussy cut, attached them to some glitter paper and added raffia ribbon.

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used this adorable bear from the Time for Giving Clear Stamp set, which was so much fun to colour with twinkling H2Os. i made this card more masculine because it’s going to a man, but it would work equally well in more feminine colours too.

i used the sentiment from the Toby Tumble’s Snowy Day clear stamp set and the holly leaves were die cut from the Leane Creatief Holly Leaves & Pine Branches die set.

Cuddly Buddly Robin

as you can see, i’m quickly adding to my stash of christmas cards. for this DT card, i’ve used this oh so cute robin from the Toby Tumble & Robins clear stamp set, just one of many adorable Cuddly Buddly christmas stamp sets. i watercoloured the image with twinkling H2Os, stamped and cut the leaves out, heat embossed them for shine and attached them back on to the card. the sentiment is in the same set and stamped in green. i added stickles to the hat, some snow and attached it to the green layer embossed with the Leane Creatief Embossing Folder – Background Snowflakes; it embosses beautifully.
