Shopping My Christmas Stash

the jingle belles are holding a special crossover event with the shopping our stash challenge so i went digging through my holiday stash and found this 3 year old molly blooms gingerbread stamp that, shamefully, i’ve not used yet.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i watercoloured him with distress ink pads and tombow markers, painted the sky and added snow and i edged the shape with stickles. i found this 1 year old paper to pair him with and i have a christmas card for my husband.

i’d also like to submit this card to the sweet stamping – christmas in july theme. thanks for popping by.

Snow Day

wintermolly
i created this card for the final papercraft star challenge; i was inspired to use the gorgeous colours in the inspiration photo and watercoloured this cute molly blooms stamp with twinkling H2Os. i got brave and tried the stampendous embossing enamel for the first time – fun stuff, but next time i’ll use a bit less.

i’m also submitting this card to christmas at sweet stampin‘s snow theme and the jingle belles linkfest. thanks for popping by.

A Christmas Robin

mollybloomsrobin
i’m still making christmas cards; i read on someone’s blog that as long as they’re postmarked before the 25th it’s ok so i feel better now. this cute little bird is a molly blooms stamp that i watercoloured with twinkling H2Os and distress ink pads. i added snow after i painted the sky, added stickles to the hat and made some poinsettias.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
my time to craft – christmas birds
cute card thursday – christmas catch up
papercrafting journey – it’s christmas time
loves rubber stamps – # 82 anything goes christmas
papertake weekly – christmas creatures
Bunny Zoe’s Crafts Monthly Challenge – wings

A Jar Of Gingerbreads

tag in red, green and brown with jar of gingerbread cookies, a season's greetings sentiment with a red check bow at the top with a white snowflake sponged brown on the edges and red gem in the middle
welcome to my new followers! thank you for taking an interest in my creations.

i made this tag with materials created by Clare from the Molly Blooms Christmas Carnival magazine and Card Making Kit that i was lucky to have won recently; the image is coloured with distress inks and layered up with papers and ribbon from the kit. i sponged the edges and added a ‘my favorite things’ die cut snowflake and dew drop. i thought the gingerbread cookies suited the last jingle belles prompt for this year (already?!), which is ‘christmas feast’.

i’m also submitting this to these challenges:
really reasonable ribbon – anything but a card ends november 28
stamping sensations – traditional christmas ends november 28
addicted to stamps – tags ends november 24
pan pastel – red and green ends november 23
whimsy stamps inspirations challenge – traditional christmas colouring ends december 1

thanks for popping by.

Pumpkin George

card with george dressed up in pumpkin outfit with a spider
i created this card for the first Without Words challenge, which is an autumn theme this month. i love the cooler temperatures and rich colours of the fall season and pumpkins popping up everywhere, so i went with molly blooms’ pumpkin george stamp. i coloured with distress ink pads, sponged the edges of the kraft mat and popped it on with foam squares. thanks for popping by.

How I Roll

card in greens and yellows with molly blooms image and rolled flower
i made this for the first challenge at designed to color and it was very challenging! the april/may DTC issue has an article on rolled flowers and i really love how dimensional they look – but with my hands, one was enough. lol. i cut the circle by myself and attached it to a punched flower, coloured with distress ink pads, added glossy accents to the buttons and stickles to all the dots. thanks for popping by.

Chilly Days

christmas card nontraditional colours featuring penguin holding garland of stars
it is getting colder, but not quite cold enough for snow. i squeezed in some time to create another christmas card; this was such a fun image to colour, as usual, with distress inks. i used liquid pearls for the snow dots, stickles on the stars and ground, and punched three different snowflakes and then distressed the edges. i’m submitting this to:

the paperlane challenge – snowflakes and sparkle
crimbo crackers – make it sparkle
stamping scrapping challenge central – christmas/holidays challenge; tim holtz distress ink pads can be found here
samuel taylors crafts challenge  –
christmas cards; this month’s prize is a Martha Stewart Double Craft Punch “Icelandic Snowflake”

thanks for popping by.

edited: since i use wordpress to blog with, i can’t always link up to challenge blogs that limit participants to those who use blogger; for the same reason, i can’t always ‘follow’ blogs i’d like to or get updates.

New Home Tag

square scalloped card featuring birdhouse hanging from a branch with two blue birds
i created this tag for this month’s paperlane challenge to use glitz and sparkle. the red heart is covered in red stickles and the dots with yellow stickles; everything is watercoloured with distress inks as usual and i cut out and popped the birdhouse and birds. thanks for popping by.

Have You Met Mr. Snow?

snowman gift tag with green ribbon and striped paper framehe’s one of the new molly blooms’ holiday images that i watercoloured with distress inks for the paperlane challenge to create anything but a card.
back of snowman gift tag with a gift for you sentimenti admit that i’m one of those stampers that doesn’t always finish my cards inside, but i had to finish the back of this tag and i did enjoy the sense of accomplishment. :) since i’ve read that christmas is only three months away, i might be ready. thanks for popping by.

Hello Sunshine

molly sitting on a toadstool card in pink, orange, yellow and red with hello sunshine sentiment
the second paperlane challenge, using molly blooms stamps, has a theme of shades of sunshine, so i went with yellow, orange, pink and red. i masked molly to stamp her on the toadstool, watercoloured her with distress inks and aquamarkers and added glossy accents to her shoes. the sentiment is a punch out from the echo park summer days collection kit. thanks for popping by.

Molly Blooms Love Birds

the paperlane challenge
is holding its first challenge – Anything BUT square with Molly Blooms Stamps as your main image. i watercoloured the house and birds with distress inks, gave them a really shiny roof with glossy accents and added yellow stickles to the dots. the heart is a chip board button i covered with some basic grey DP and coated with glossy accents. i’ll set this aside for my husband since our anniversary is next month.  when i taught my watercolouring class last week, we had an interesting discussion about just what kinds of cards are acceptable to men – i’m lucky that my DH likes everything i make. thanks for popping by.
