In Loving Memory

This is a scheduled post while I recuperate with my new hip.

It’s now been eight years since my son passed away from cancer. so many memories, but i like to choose one every year and create a card around it.

when my son was four he decided he wanted to be a clown for halloween but there weren’t many choices in the remote area we lived in so i sewed his costume, ruffle and pointed hat from some very bright print fabric. needless to say, he loved it and, in retrospect, it suited his personality and sense of humour.

i painted these cute penny black clowns with sennelier watercolour paints and twinkling H2Os.

since we’re halfway through this month’s ‘anything goes’ theme at the penny black and more challenge you still have time to join us as we mark the 7th birthday of the challenge blog and be entered to win one of two amazing prizes.

Anything Goes Continues At Penny Black And More

we’re halfway through this month’s anything goes theme at the penny black and more challenge blog so i created an easter card for my daughter and of course it had to feature bunnies.

i painted these cute penny black ‘egg hunting’ bunnies with Twinkling H2Os and painted the stripes with Sennelier watercolour paints.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, you’ll love the prizes to be won from: Penny Black, Marianne Designs, Fantastic Ribbons, and Chalkola.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:

HLS March Watercolour Challenge – anything goes
Card Mania #90 – Pastel Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge #150 – Dots and/or Stripes

thanks for popping by.

Balloon Bunny

i had an idea after i finished yesterday’s tag so i made another one for the ellen hutson’s mix it up challenge with paper smooches.

i cut the paper smooches Tag Stitched Die from cold pressed watercolour paper, stamped the bunny from the essentials by ellen bear ware set and painted the sky and bunny with Sennelier watercolour paints.

i thought the leftover circles from the paper smooches paint palette die would make balloons for the bunny so i painted them with twinkling H2Os, drew in the balloon strings and added twine.

Fabulous Fun

i’ve been working on creating christmas card sets for family members but trying to create just for fun in between all the mass production. for today’s card i followed the My Favorite Things Sketch 302:http://www.cardchallenges.com/2016/10/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-302.html

i painted the background and the ‘fabulous’ with sennelier watercolour paints, heat embossed with holographic embossing powder and offset the word on white; all the die cuts were layered four times. thanks for popping by.

Grumpy Penguin

i enjoy making christmas cards year round but i usually make cards for my family at the last minute. thanks to the share joy challenges i’ve been playing along with, i’ll be ready with cards featuring funny little grumpy characters.

i chose the clean and simple challenge this time and watercoloured the sky and this little guy with two watercolour paints: sennelier and twinkling H2Os and used stickles on the star and for snow. thanks for popping by.

Thinking Of You

the colour combination at the wplus9 Pure Color With Kara: #3 Stamping Text Over Stamped Images is one i rarely use so i had to try it. besides, i don’t have enough wplus9 stamps yet to try the technique; will have to fix that.

you might remember seeing this adorable wplus9 elephant before and you’ll probably be seeing more of him since one family member loves elephants.
