i’m playing along with the 101 waterolour challenge; over the next couple of weeks we’ll be playing with masks, so this week’s assignment is to create watercolor backgrounds with the assistance of background stamps and embossing powder. i watched all three videos linked from class and i decided to use the technique from catherine pooler’s tutorial; since my painting is controlled, i liked the more controlled look of her sample.
i bought this hero arts background stamp with my daughter in mind because i knew she’d love the pattern and shamefully, this is the first time i’ve used it. i heat embossed with white ep and i only used a yellow and a blue twinkling H2O and let them naturally turn into green in spots; it’s matted on green card stock because that’s my daughter’s favourite colour. i heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, attached die cut hearts out of the same painted paper and some gems. thanks for popping by.
It’s GORGEOUS!!!! :)
Absolutely love it. You’re amazing with the H20’s and this is a perfect stamp pattern to really show off your skills. TFS
Oh my goodness!!!! At my challenge the little picture was nice, but coming here and seeing it large- It’s stunning! You are this weeks Best in Class 102! Congratulations. Sorry, I’m late with comments and such, crazy week for me. You’ve done this assignment perfectly and I REALLY like that card. Big Hugs sweetie, Victoria Lavender 101: Watercolor
