i was curious about the CAS Mix Up Challenge because, to me, mixed media is a collage with layers of, obviously, different media; then i realized i’ve made cards like this before.
i’m playing along with this month’s theme of stamping + ghosting + your choice from a list of mixed media techniques and products.
my choices were gesso, stencilling and nuance powders.
i started by creating all the backgrounds with magenta’s nuance powders and watercolour paper and adding the butterflies with gesso and a magenta stencil. then i randomly stamped magenta silhouette leaves all over the background. i stamped the sentiment, also magenta, die cut it and layered it four times.
thanks for popping by.
Such beautiful, soft and delicate colours Linda. Great job with the ghosting of leaves in the background. Love the spray of butterflies done with gesso. Gesso is something that I haven’t used very much, but want to learn more about. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
What a pretty card. The colours are gorgeous, and all the effects and details draw your eye around the whole thing many times; it has a lot of movement, which is prized in art. :)
Such a pretty card … love those colors
I love these soft, pretty colors, Linda! And the butterflies are so delicate and pretty! Thanks so much for sharing with us again at CAS Mix Up!
