Have A Good Sleep

it’s world sleep day, “an annual, global call to action about the importance of healthy sleep.”

I don’t think these little guys have any sleep issues.

painted sloth bookmarks

I fussy cut the mama elephant sloth agenda characters, painted with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper. they were attached to green striped bases, cut with the mama elephant bookmark dies and stamped sentiments from the mama elephant good reads stamp set. the stack of books images is from the book worm set.

I’m playing along with these challenges:

Art Impressions Stamp Challenge #303 Itty Bitty
As You Like It Challenge Favourite Way To Cut Your Image (& Why) I like to fussy cut, but only if I use my arthritis-friendly tonic spring loaded scissors and because I can decide how much of a border I do or do not want to have.

Blue Butterfly Bookmark

this is my mid month DT post for the Penny Black and More Challenge and this month’s Animals, Birds and Butterflies theme.

i made a bookmark using the penny black Illumination clear stamp set and a brilliance tricolour ink pad that was overstamped with the penny black text background in blue ink. playing along is easy; to be eligible for a chance at a prize from one of our generous sponsors just follow the theme and make sure your focal point is a hand stamped image from any company.

Bear Bookmark

i’m playing along with the October 2019 Paper Smooches Challenge to be inspired by the Design Team creations.

karin’s bookmark inspired me because of the transition of colours and the comical bird at the bottom. i painted the cute paper smooches bear from the courteous cuties stamp set with twinkling H2Os on hot press watercolour paper and fussy cut him. i used the same paper smooches bookmark die but i shortened it, sponged it with distress inks and splattered and stamped the sentiment from the same set.

Penny Black And More Mid Month Reminder

we’re halfway through the things with wings theme at the penny black and more challenge so you still have time to join in.

i used scraps of watercolour paper backgrounds to die cut these avery elle bookmarks and watercolour pencils to colour these cute penny black bees from the every which way clear set; wink of stella was added to the wings.

remember your focal point must be hand stamped, any company, to be eligible to win one of the fabulous prizes from this month’s sponsors: Penny Black, Marianne Designs, Bee Crafty. a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image.

Cute Flower Bookmarks

i’v mentioned before how much i love making bookmarks and keeping my daughter stocked up for her textbooks.

the cute tiny lawn fawn smiley flower from the so much to say stamp set was stamped on some leftover scraps of hot pressed watercolour backgrounds and coloured with coloured pencils. i used an avery elle bookmark die and finished them off with white dots.

i’m submitting these to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 31 – flowers, floral and foliage!

Birthday Bookmark

i’m playing along with the impression obsession challenge foodie fun!

i was going to mat this and attach to a narrow card base but as i was painting my husband asked who the bookmark was for. naturally, i said ok it’s done; quick and easy and perfect for when i’m short on time and energy.

the cakes image is from Celebrate (CL254), painted with twinkling H2Os and the sentiment is from More Basic Greetings (CL549).

Zinnia Bookmarks

welcome to some new followers! thank you for taking an interest in my creations.

i made some more bookmarks, colouring on kraft this time, still using a paper smooches bookmark die, and a retired flourishes stamp set but this time i coloured with laurentian colour pencils.

Make A Difference

i had fun getting inky again since i discovered the creative expressions sponges, reviewed here; now if only the distress ink pads were more useable for people with disabilities.

flourishes bookmarks copyright linda snailzpace.wordpress.com

i used a paper smooches bookmark die, a retired flourishes stamp set and three different stencils and distress inks to create these. my daughter has a lot of textbooks so i keep her well supplied with bookmarks; she likes these as they attach better and stay put because they are longer.

Butterfly Bookmark

time sure flies! since it’s the first sunday of october, we have a new theme at the penny black and more challenge; this month we are getting ‘close to nature.’

i coloured the butterflies from the penny black florals & feathers stamp set with pencil crayons and also used the penny black letter background stamp.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, you’ll love the prizes to be won from: Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons and Sizzix.

House of Cards August – Bookmark It

it’s hard to believe that it’s the first of august already! it’s time for a new theme at the house of cards challenge blog and we’ve got an inspiration photo for you so you can choose to use either Twine and/or the Colours:

i was inspired to use some of the colours and twine to create this bookmark for my daughter, who is continuing her university studies. the avery elle die set also comes with some smaller bookmarks so i used one of those and the coordinating cute owl stamp to create these bookmarks; all were coloured with coloured pencils.

i hope you’ll come and play along! different groups of design team members will have their creative cards showcased on the challenge blog every five days, so check back for a variety of styles and inspiration.

Friendship Bookmarks

while i was having fun with the monster stamp set, i made two bookmarks to submit to the Avery Elle challenge and this month’s theme: AEI♥U Challenge 33–Friendship!

Challenge 33 alt_thumb[2]

these little cuties were watercoloured with twinkling H2Os on hot press watercolour paper and the backgrounds were brayered with distress inks. since the blue monster had his hands up in the air, i added splatters because i think he’s throwing confetti.

All About The Dies

kraft paper bookmark with fall striped paper, a teal maple leaf die cut and edged with gold shimmer paint
impression obsession
had a blog hop last week featuring their dies and i was lucky enough to be a random winner of three dies of my choice, which was tough after visiting the designers’ blogs – there are so many enablers out there. :)

anyway, i made this for the current ‘all about the dies’ IO challenge.  i probably would’ve coloured this leaf from the IO leaf die set (DIE030-S) with distress inks, and i actually have a pile die cut and ready to do that for fall, but i was inspired by daniela dobson’s card and her designer paper leaves. after die cutting my teal leaf, the edges were painted with twinkling H2Os and sponged with distress ink (just had to get inky with them). i stamped the bookmark with IO take time (D5512), created a pocket for it and attached the leaf to the striped paper. thanks for popping by.
