Guest Designing At Challenge Up Your Life With Downhill Snowman

i had a lot of fun creating my second card as a guest designer for Challenge Up Your Life and the snowman theme for challenge #83.

i love snowmen! i have so many snowmen stamps but i used an older penny black wood stamp, new to me but never used, called skiing snowman from 2004.

i painted everything with twinkling H2Os, watercolour pencils and, for the first time, i played with some of my new Schmincke watercolour paints. definitely a learning curve because i’m so used to my twinks; they have different qualities – transparency, staining and lifting that i’ll eventually get used to.

i finished off this card by adding white flocking to the hat and a glitter mat around the image panel.

so pop over to the challenge to play along with a snowman of your choice!

thanks for popping by.

Guest Designing At Challenge Up Your Life

i’m so excited that as a November winner i was invited to join Challenge Up Your Life as a guest designer for the two challenges in January.

shimmer sheetz embossed copyright linda @ snailzpace.wordpress.com

the theme for the next two weeks, for challenge #82, is to create a project using an embossing folder so i embossed this very shiny blue Elizabeth Craft Designs Shimmer Sheetz and coloured with permanent markers. to finish off, i added a sentiment and matted it with the shimmer sheetz and some purple mirri. the biggest challenge was taking a good photo without my or my camera’s reflection.

thanks for popping by.

card with an under the sea theme
i used the colours and theme to create this card for my husband for father’s day. the shells were stamped, coloured with distress inks, cut and popped on foam tape. the sea is painted with distress inks, which was covered on the bottom with embossing powder and enamel. finally, i added some cheesecloth, twine and a flourishes sentiment and tag. you’ll want to check out the inspiring DT creations at the scrapbooker’s paradise blog and i hope you can play along. thanks for popping by.
