we have a new theme for February at the Penny Black and More Challenge and this month we’d like to see your creations featuring Animals, Birds and Butterflies.

i’ve used a wooden penny black stamp called Hedge Delivery, painted everything with twinkling H2Os and added a mat from a scrap of doodlebug paper. i finished it off with two clearly besotted sentiments. playing along is easy; to be eligible for a chance at a prize from one of our generous sponsors just follow the theme and make sure your focal point is a hand stamped image from any company.

I am finally playing along with Pixie’s Snippets Playground – Challenge #370 since i used a scrap of paper for the frame and got a nudge from Di.

i’m posting my first card of 2020 – happy new year. this is my DT creation for the January Penny Black and More Challenge and we’d like you to make it feminine this month.

this cute cat is from a sheet of Penny Black stickeroos called So Cute! #10-163 that i attached to some pretty paper and added a ribbon. i finished off the card with a Clearly Besotted sentiment popped on a rectangle that was sponged with distress ink.

remember to be eligible for a prize from our generous sponsors, Penny Black and Blade Rubber Crafts, the focal point has to be hand stamped although it can be any company’s; the only exception are the PB stickeroos.

this is my tag for day 3 of the annual Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas.

Kelly’s tag inspired by I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus! featured a very cute bear couple and my stash of santas is limited so i used the penny black under the mistletoe image. i painted with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper, added stickles to their hats ad liquid pearls to the mistletoe. after attaching to red glitter paper, i enlisted my husband’s help to punch a hole and threaded it with lawn fawn gold glitter twine.

Ardyth’s tag inspired me with her favorite Christmas Carol, Joy To The World! featuring an adorable and very happy yeti. i started by painting the background with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper die cut with a lawn fawn stitched circle tag die; then i painted this happy penny black mouse. the image had snowflakes already so i just filled them in with stickles.

Flowers All Over At Penny Black and More

it’s the first sunday of a new month so it’s time for a new theme at the Penny Black and More Challenge: flowers all over.

For my design team card, I painted the penny black slapstick cling stamp ‘unfolding’ with twinkling H2Os on hot pressed watercolour paper. The challenge rules are simple – the focal point can be any company’s image as long as it’s hand stamped and fits the theme. There are prizes from generous sponsors Penny Black and Bee Crafty.

i’m sharing another design team card for the november Penny Black and More Challenge theme of Christmas.

i custom mixed some twinkling H2Os so i could match the penny black festive and frosty paper and painted this sweet Penny Black wood stamp image, ‘Snowy & Hedgy’ using hot press watercolour paper. i added glitter snow dots, around the image panel and snowy’s hat.

Sweet Dreams For Penny Black and More

if you celebrate christmas, we’d like to see your christmas creations.

i painted this sweet image, a Penny Black wood stamp called ‘dreaming of a white christmas,’ with twinkling H2Os on hot press watercolour paper; i fussy cut it to pop on foam tape over the Penny Black die cut floor, coloured with distress inks. to finish it off, i added glossy accents to all the bed posts and i fussy cut the stockings for dimension.

Blooming Pink

there are a number of challenges using pink for breast cancer awareness this month. i’ve mentioned before that i love pink but i’d like to raise awareness of the think before you pink campaign that “calls for more transparency and accountability by companies that take part in breast cancer fundraising, and encourages consumers to ask critical questions about pink ribbon promotions.” as one who has lived the experience i ask more questions and check more labels; i hope you do too.

i painted the marianne design die cut flower with twinkling H2Os, added a marianne design branch and die cut sentiment from penny black. the dark green card stock and pretty background papers were included in the simon says kit of the month for may but these pretty papers are still available.

the penny black wood stamp a great surprise! consists of a series of three hedgies but i masked off the centre one since i only needed two for this card. i painted with twinkling H2Os, stamped the lawn fawn sentiment and used some colourful birthday papers for this fun card following this tutorial. as i was making it i thought i’d never do another but when it was finished i changed my mind.

i painted with twinkling H2Os, used the adorable penny black hugs! mice and two penny black dies: heart string and sending love. i rarely make cards this bright, but it’s summer and i was in the mood to use my least favourite colour – orange, usually reserved for autumn card making.

Ombre Christmas Card

the current prompt at the jingle belles is Ombre Colors of Christmas and this beautiful inspiration photo:

i started off by painting ombre die cut presents, but decided they were better suited to a birthday card, so that’s what it ended up as. i experimented with a few colour combinations and my twinkling H2Os until i was happy with my choices for a christmas card. as usual, i used my twinks on this penny black die that i inlaid against the snowflake embossed background.
