Designing For Rudolph Days October

are you ready for this month’s rudolph days challenge? i had a lot of fun creating this christmas card to add to my stash and i hope you’ll be inspired to work ahead on your cards.

i used valentine papers to create a pocket card featuring this sweet angel image and added a poinsettia that were all watercoloured with twinkling H2Os. i added stickles to her wings, ruffle and around the edge of the frame and a pretty pearl to the poinsettia centre.

the challenge runs until the last day of the month; be sure to visit scrappymo’s blog to view the rest of the team’s inspiring cards and the challenge rules to join.

A Christmas Carol

i’m starting to make more christmas cards because in three months they’ll need to be mailed out and i’ll be extra busy this year getting ready for my christmas present – a new knee.

i watercoloured these cute christmas carollers and poinsettias with twinkling H2Os, added stickles for the snow and used some festive christmas paper; the leaves were coloured with some metallic rub on paints.

i’m playing along with these challenges:

Jingle Belles: music
Marianne Design Divas challenge 8: anything goes with 3 marianne design products (marianne design christmas carols stamp, poinsettia die, daisy & leaves die, christmas wishes paper bloc)
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: stamp it

Winter Bunny

i’m happy to announce that House Of Cards challenge blog owners mynn and sue have invited me back to the design team for another 6 month term. along with some other returning members, there are some new ones so you’ll have plenty of inspiration!

we’re starting off the new year with an easy theme – embossing and/or a colour inspiration photo:

i love the rich brown and green colours and this marianne design embossing folder, so i chose to use both. i watercoloured this cute bunny with twinkling H2Os and added some white flocking to his tail.

i hope you’ll come and play along!

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 9

this is my tag i created for day 9 of the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge and it’s another fun sketch; once again, i literally followed it.

6a00d83451614969e201bb08971080970d-320wi-2

i love both designers’ tag shapes, but i was inspired by Heather Campbell’s use of designer paper for the background.

copyright linda snailzpace.wordpress.com twelve tags feminine twist day 9.2015-1

i created the sky with distress inks, die cut the marianne design tree and the my favorite things die-namics snow drifts from white glitter paper and popped the tree on foam tape.

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 2

i’m slowly creating tags for the ellen hutson’s 12 Tag of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge and i finally finished my tag for day 2.

6a00d83451614969e201bb089780aa970d

i was inspired by both designers’ tags for Day 2; i like the dimension Kittie Caracciolo achieved and Dina Kowal’s watercolouring. i used twinkling H2Os as usual to paint what i’m calling a christmas rose and all the leaves and i created the woodgrain pattern with pumice stone distress ink.

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 1

i love making tags so i’m playing along with ellen hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge. last year was the first time i joined in and only managed to create a couple; i’m not sure how many i’ll get made this year, but it’s fun getting lost in the creative zone.

6a00d83451614969e201bb089780aa970d

i was inspired by both designers’ tags for Day 1; i liked the bright pink and trees Carolyn Peeler used and the larger die cut sentiment on Stephanie Wincott’s.

copyright linda snailzpace.wordpress.com twelve tags feminine twist day 1-1

i created the background with distress ink, die cut everything with glitter paper, layered the snow drifts and trees and added some snow and ribbons. thanks for popping by.

Birthday Wishes

i designed this card for Buddly Crafts using one of the adorable images from the clear stamp set Birthday Wishes.

Round Christmas Card

the marianne design divas’  theme is round cards or use circles; this circle card was so much fun to create – there’s a fold at the top, hidden by the seam binding.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i watercoloured the poinsettias, seam binding and the inlaid sentiment with twinkling H2Os and used these marianne design products, available at buddly crafts:

Penny Black And More August – Summer Flowers

it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge blog – this month we’d like to see some summer flowers.

penny black hedgie with flowers

i watercoloured this cute little hedgie from the penny black ‘tiny wishes’  clear stamp set with watercolour pencils, watercolour paints and twinkling H2Os; the marianne flowers were die cut and sponged with distress inks.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won from: Penny BlackAll Occasion DiesCrafts U LoveMarianne Design.

Especially For You

i designed today’s creation for Buddly Crafts using one of the smaller images from the clear stamp set Rose Garden – they’re perfect for creating backgrounds or using on tags like this.

buddly.crafts.tag

i used the Marianne Design Decorative Tags, stamped, watercoloured with twinkling H2Os, and sponged the edges with distress inks. i also had some fun splattering and i finished it off with a sheer striped pink bow and some twine.

i’m submitting this to kathy’s 30 day colouring challenge – day 30. this challenge was just what i needed this month; something to focus on and stay motivated to colour and create. i may have coloured everyday but i couldn’t share some of my DT projects yet.

Twinkling Bokeh

it’s the first of the month and time for a new theme at the house of cards challenge – we’d like you to use the bokeh effect on your creations. if you haven’t already tried it, you can make interesting backgrounds imitating this photography technique.

HOC bokeh

i created my bokeh with twinkling H2Os and sponge daubers on 140 lb. cold press watercolour paper and simply attached the balloons and die cut sentiment.

mynn has provided a written tutorial on the blog today and movies, tips, and more from other DT gals later this month! i hope you’ll try this fun technique and play along! different DT creations are featured every monday so be sure and check them out for more inspiration.

Christmas Shopping

i made this card for my daughter and even though she’ll get a sneak peek of it here, she’ll have to wait to see what kind of gift card goes with it. this was such a fun image to colour – i watercoloured with twinkling H2Os and winsor & newton watercolour paints.

Spring Bunnies

this is another card I designed for Cuddly Buddly using one of the stamps from the new spring release; this adorable image is another in the Country Church set.

Cuddly Buddly Country Church Bunnies.Linda

i used twinkling H2Os and Winsor & Newton watercolour paints to paint the sky, grass and bunnies. the flowers were die cut with marianne design flower set; i lightly sanded off the edges of the paper and attached them to a marianne design branch forest. the papers are brand new studio light #11 and also available at the cuddly buddly shop.

i never knew, until my daughter rescued two bunnies, just how intelligent, animated and sweet they are; but they do require maintenance and time, a consideration that is, sadly, often not part of a decision to obtain a bunny, especially at easter. chocolate bunnies are preferred, and welcome, yum, unless there is a strong commitment to follow through with a long range plan to raise a pet one. make mine chocolate!

Cuddly Buddly Snow Girl

this is the last of the creations i made using adorable images from the Cuddly Buddly Snow Family clear stamp set and i had so much fun colouring them all. this cute image is also water coloured with twinkling H20s, fussy cut and popped on foam tape. i stamped and heat embossed one of the snowflakes from the Cuddly Christmas Buddies clear stamp set as a resist and washed with twins and distress inks.

cuddly buddly snow family tag

i used Kim’s Digi Papers – Silent Night, available at the Cuddly Buddly shop, for the pink at the top.

From Our House

the house of cards challenge is having an end of term blog hop and DT call; here’s the beautiful inspiration photo:

better homes chocolate and turquoise placesetting

i went with the colours and trees to create this scene. the house and trees are marianne design dies; i lightly sanded the card stock of the house, used marianne design snow paper for all the snow and popped everything on foam tape. i painted a wash of yellow twinkling H2Os to attach behind the windows and door.

Mama Snow Woman

i used my scor-pal to create this pocket card, another Cuddly Buddly DT card, this time using the mama from the Snow Family clear stamp set that i water coloured with twinkling H20s as usual; i used Kim’s Digi Papers – Silent Night and you might recognize my favourite poinsettia – Poinsettias Miniature LR0142.

Papa Snowman

this is a Cuddly Buddly DT card that i created for my husband. i used one of the images from the Cuddly Buddly Snow Family clear stamp set and water coloured with twinkling H20s as usual; the sentiment is from the Merry Little Christmas set. I’m in the process of colouring the whole snow family but papa is the first one that got made into a card; they’re all so cute.

Cuddly Buddly Snow Family

i found the perfect papers to match at the Cuddly Buddly shop:
Kim’s Digi Papers – A Portfolio of Papers – Ochre

along with the Marianne Design Creatables Die – Poinsettias Miniature LR0142; i love the smaller size for the card sizes I make, like this one that’s 4 and 1/2 inches.

Season’s Greetings

my daughter requested cards for animal lovers and her bunnies’ vets so i created this card that is flat for mailing. i used three marianne design products: the snow paper for my snow, cut from my own template, the trees and the greeting; i stamped the poppy stamp rudolph, used the matching die to cut out and watercolour with twinkling H2Os.

Merry Little Christmas

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used one of the cute images from the new clear stamp set – Merry Little Christmas CBS0007.

cuddly buddly merry little christmas

this adorable image was a lot of fun watercolouring with my twinkling H2Os. the sentiment is stamped with brilliance ink and heat embossed and the leane creatief embossing folder border snow was sanded to expose the white core. i used a couple of dies, all listed below with links to the cuddly buddly store: two poinsettias were cut from white card stock and one from vellum that i sponged with distress ink; the tiny solid snowflake was cut from marianne design ‘snow paper’ and attached to the bow; the other snowflake was used on the two corners. of course i had to add stickles to the stars on her hat, sentiment and ruffle trim. thanks for popping by and be sure to visit the Cuddly Buddly Blog for some very inspiring tutorials for holiday creations and check out the Cuddly Buddly facebook page for more projects and news.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:

Simple Thank You

i needed another thank you card and i was inspired by the sketch at the stick it down challenge blog to create this one. i got brave and stamped the flourishes sentiment directly on the paper for a change; there’s a coordinating thank you sentiment on the inside. i applied a bit of gesso to the marianne designs flower and leaves and i was done in record time. i might just have to make a set of these.
