Apple Season

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAIL'S SPACE and described here solely for people with disabilities; an autumn card with orange, red and green background papers, some banners at the top with a sentiment, "mmmmm! apples" and a watercoloured image of two hedgies with apples, one hedgie in a basket
it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge and this month it’s anything goes! for my DT card, i chose this cute penny black ‘hedgy gift’ image because it’s fall, it’s apple season and we just made some apple crisp – yum! i coloured with distress ink pads, cut out the apples, heated with versamark and clear ep and popped them on foam tape. there are some fabulous prizes to be won and you can use any company’s image for your focal point, just no digis. you’ll be impressed when you check out what the rest of the design team did at the blog; i hope you’ll play along.

i’d also like to submit this card to these challenges:
one crazy stamper – autumn
simply create too – fall/autumn
papercraft star – inspiration photo – fall

thanks for popping by.

Penny Black And More – Sew Special

card with girl sitting on ground holding an umbrella with a bird standing on her shoe holding a pink tulip for her with hearts gently falling next to it
it’s the first sunday of the month so it’s time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge; it’s sew special – create a card or gift for someone special to you with the option of adding sewing, real or faux. sewing was one of my hobbies i gave up because of RA, so i used an image that already had stitching on it, plus i pierced some holes around the edge. i coloured with a paintbrush, distress ink pads and twinkling H2Os and i used marianne design dies to make the rolled flower, leaves and my favourite tag. you’ll want to visit our challenge blog for inspiration and rules, which are pretty simple – use any company’s stamped image for your focal point, just no digis.

i’d like to submit this to the going girly theme this month at marianne’s design divas.

ETA: i’m also adding this to the moxie fab world wonder of watercolor challenge. thanks for popping by.

Penny Black and More – London Celebrates

card with penny black london calling image and confetti in red, blue and white
it’s the first sunday of the month and this is my DT card for the penny black and more challenge; this month’s theme is London Celebrates in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics. my mother-in-law was a war bride from england and if she were still with us she’d be following all the festivities. i coloured this cute penny black image, ‘london calling,’ with distress inks, made confetti from leftover punched bits and made a flag pole for the banner. you’ll want to see the rest of the Design Team’s very creative cards and remember you don’t have to use a penny black image to play along for a chance to win some fabulous prizes from Penny Black, Stampalot, Crimson Cloud and Crafts U Love. thanks for popping by.

Exciting News!

i’ve been invited to join the design team at the Penny Black And More Challenge Blog. everyone has made me feel very welcome and they’ve been so patient with me as i learn blogger.

birthday card with two mice, one blowing candles out and another with balloons in yellow, blue and purple colours

this is my DT card for this month’s theme, which is ‘oh so cute.’ everything is coloured with distress inks and i added stickles to the icing.

there are some fabulous prizes to be won: our sponsors this month are Penny Black (3 stamps/sets), Joanna Sheen (£10 voucher), Sir Stampalot (PB stamp) and Letraset (set of Aquamarkers). you can view all the challenge rules and the rest of the Design Team’s cute creations here; you’ll be awww’d. thanks for popping by.

Playing Bingo

the Penny Black and More At Allsorts challenge this month is a colour bingo and i chose the line with yellow, white and black.

the penny black image is coloured with distress inks, of course, and i added black stickles to the centres. oh, and if my picture looks crooked, apparently my new computer’s photo editing software needs tweaking and who knows how long that will take. i know, i need to take straight pics to begin with, but i swear they look straight when i push that button. thanks for popping by.

Penny Black At Allsorts Challenge Changes

i don’t have a card to share; i was away on the weekend and have been working on deadlines for volunteer commitments and class cards, which means i don’t always have time to play. but, i wanted to share some big news about the changes to the PB at allsorts challenge. starting in november, the name and entry criteria will change; at penny black and more at allsorts, you will be able to use any stamp on your work, although strictly no digi images. read about additional changes here.  thanks for popping by.
