Warm Winter Wishes

every year i make a set of cards for my daughter to send out to the vet and other animal lovers so this is the 2019 design.

stampendous-snowman-bbunny-copyright-linda-snailzpace.com_.jpg

i painted the small stampendous image with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper and attached it to a green vellum-like circle mat. the sizzix tim holtz holly die separates pieces so i die cut through the white cardstock, attached a green shimmery vellum-like rectangle behind it and then taped that piece to the card base. i thought it would be faster than inlaid holly because i made 12 cards. to finish it off i stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment. i added glossy accents to the buttons but resisted adding glitter to the cuffs and pom pom because some bunnies like paper and touch their noses to it.

12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge Day 8

this is my tag for day 8 of the annual Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas.

snowman snow globe tag

Jessica’s tag for Let It Snow it so pretty; she used pink/purple/blue and created a shaker tag.i also loved the dark walnut on the wood base. i’ve been using those colours quite a bit so i switched to traditional colours and stamped this Stampendous snowman in the globe, painting with twinkling H2Os on Arches hot press watercolour paper. i finished it off with a dark pink and green twine and sprayed it with a clear shimmer.

Happy Rudolph Days March 2018

it’s time for the Rudolph Days Challenge at scrappymo’s blog and it’s always an anything goes theme for christmas cards.

stampendous snowman. copyright linda snailzpace.wordpress.com-1

i started this card by painting the sky with twinkling H2Os, then painted the cute stampendous snowman and added a sentiment with a die i first noticed on a card by my penny black and more teamie, lynn.

all you need to do is create one card every month on the 25th and you have until the last day of each month to play along. pop over to the blog to be inspired by the rest of the design team, to read the rules and see the fabulous prize on offer.

Snow Globe Fun For Rudolph Days

it’s time for february’s rudolph days challenge and i had so much fun creating my design team card with this whimsical image from stampendous.

linda.rudolphdays.feb.2017-1

i love this christmas visions stamp set because it has a few images that fit inside the snow globe along with a few sentiments.

as usual, i painted it with twinkling H2Os, added glossy accents to the ornaments and stickles to the snow; the background was created with a taylored expressions snow embossing folder.

the challenge runs until the last day of the month; visit scrappymo’s blog to be inspired to create christmas cards on the 25th of every month so you’ll be well prepared. have fun!

Anything Christmas at Penny Black And More

we’re halfway through this month’s ‘anything christmas’ theme at the penny black and more challenge blog and my DT creation is a shaker tag using a penny black stickeroo.

i was inspired by Ardyth Percy-Robb’s cute tag on day 10 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

i coloured the background with distress inks, embossed with taylored expressions snowflake embossing folder, added some stampendous snow and finished it off with a blue ribbon and some silver twine. the blue glitter paper was cut with a lawn fawn tag die.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won from: Penny Black, Crafts U Love and Crafty Ribbons.

i’m also submitting this to the blue theme challenge at crafty ribbons.

Snow Bird

i’m still working on christmas cards and trying not to think about the fast approaching date to send them out. i was inspired by a new to me challenge, inspired by all the little things, to create today’s card.

this is the beautiful inspiration graphic:

http://inspiredbyallthelittlethings.blogspot.ca/2016/11/inspired-by-all-little-things-featuring.html

i watercoloured the background and this cute stampendous snow bird with twinkling H2Os, added glossy accents to the berries and some stickles for snow.

i’m also submitting this card to these challenges:
simon says monday – shine bright like a diamond
Happy Little Stampers Christmas November – Watercolour

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 7

i created this tag for Day 7 of the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge and look who the inspiration is for today.

i was inspired by julie ebersole’s watercoloured tag and miriam prantner’s santa’s scene she created so i put santa in a snow globe and watercoloured with twinkling H2Os; this image is actually three stampendous stamps from one set: santa, the snow globe and the sentiment.

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 5

i’m still working my way through Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Challenge and here is the beautiful inspiration photo for day 5 with all its glitz and glitter.

6a00d83451614969e201b7c7f2ef00970b-320wi

i was inspired by the glittery gold used by both designers Carissa Wiley and Kryssi Ng to create this gold and white tag that i finished off with a gold peel off sentiment and two ribbons. thanks for popping by.

Penny Black And More Mid July – Add A Sentiment

i’m sharing a card i made just to remind you that you still have plenty of time to play along with us at the  penny black and more challenge blog – all you need to do is add a sentiment to your stamped focal point.

penny black garden criter

i usually struggle with sentiments and where to put them so i stamp them inside. this time, i really went outside my comfort zone and decorated the die cut sentiment from the set ‘sweet wishes’ and added a stampendous grasshopper and a memory box butterfly.

i watercoloured this cute mouse from the penny black ‘garden critters’ clear stamp set with watercolour paints and twinkling H2Os.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won from: Penny BlackAll Occasion DiesPapercraftsMarianne DesignsWhimsy

Free To Be Me

copyright by linda @ snail's space and described here for people with disabilities; a thinking of you card in red and white with a ladybug holding a white daisy
happy canada day to my fellow canadians and independence day to my friends south of the border.

this is my first time playing along with CAS-ology and the cue word is FREE; i learned a new philosophy after the loss of my son so the first thing that comes to my mind is free to be – which includes sad, happy, silly, whatever mood i’m in, i’m free to be in it and i won’t apologize for it. i’m also free to express myself politically, artistically, or however i want because i live in a free country, thanks to the many veterans who fought to keep it this way.

i coloured the image with distress ink pads, added black stickles to the ladybug’s dots and yellow stickles to the flower centre. i’m also submitting this to the simply create too #40 challenge to use the colours of your country’s flag, which are red and white and the addicted to CAS challenge of take flight. thanks for popping by.

Winter Scenery

christmas card with deer in snow around trees with a scallop frame surrounding the image
welcome to some new followers; thank you for taking an interest in what i create.

i’ve been a little under the weather and running out of time, so i created this CAS card with dies and stamps and combined a couple of challenges:

jingle belles – neutral noel and it’s due in 2 hours so i’m really just getting it done in time
rudolph day – my friend sandra encourages everyone to create cards on the 25th of every month
brenda – at floral fantasies is celebrating her blogaversary and almost 4000 followers – congratulations! i would never attempt to replicate one of brenda’s beautiful cards, but she does create some gorgeous outdoor scenes so that’s what i was thinking of when i made this card.

Same But Different Snowman Stamp

winter snowman card with positive and negative stamp, twine and two red mitten buttons
this week the paper players are playing tic-tac-toe, so i chose christmas, red and blue and buttons. i realize that my card uses the same positive/negative concept and layout as paper players DT member amy white’s card, but i’m case-ing my own snowman stamp card, posted on september 19. i coloured with watercolour pencils and added the shank buttons to some twine. thanks for popping by.

Edited: LeAnne, the snowman is part of the stampendous winter family stamp set.

Goodbye Flutter By

floral card with thank you sentiment and yellow die cut butterfly
whew! it’s been a whirlwind week with out of town medical appointments and my daughter and her two bunnies visiting from out of town so i haven’t had much time to play until today. i created this card for the 200th and final flutter by challenge; a fun sketch by the talented jen shults. i received my first blinkie from the FBW challenge and i’ve enjoyed playing along – thank you danni and team! the image is coloured with distress inks, of course – thanks for popping by.

Make Mine Chocolate Too!

i made this for my daughter; she has two sweet and smart bunnies – they come when called by name, respond to certain words like ‘food’ and the older one gives kisses when asked. as adorable as they are, they do require a lot of time and effort, so i support the make mine chocolate! campaign: rabbits should only be adopted if you’re ready for a huge commitment that can last up to 10 years or so! live bunnies aren’t for easter! enjoy chocolate bunnies instead!

i’m submitting this card to the joanna sheen – spring/easter challenge and the cutie pie – think pink with rabbits theme. thanks for popping by.

cuddly bunnies

Cozy Bunnies

christmas card featuring two bunnies under an evergreen tree with red bow
my daughter asked me to make some more christmas cards for her, but with bunnies on them this time; so i coloured the buns to look like her two adorable bunnies. i coloured with distress inks and markers and put stickles on the branches and ground, which doesn’t show because it’s another gloomy day. anyway, i followed the freshly made sketches #12 and i’m submitting this to the panpastel challenge 10 – animals and the paper sundaes winter wonderland theme. this counts as november’s rudolph day card; my friend sandra makes a christmas card(s) on the 25th of every month – yes, i’m late, but i made up for that by making a set of these. thanks for popping by.

photo of two bunnies cuddling

i couldn’t match the dark bunny’s fur; she would be a big dark blob. lol.

Thank You, Anne

blue card with small pink and yellow flower and thank you sentimenti made this for the keep it simple theme at the allsorts challenge and the splitcoaststampers’ free for all challenge to make a card of gratitude for someone who has done a kindness for you and deliver it to them. this card is going to my friend, anne; it’s not to thank her for my early birthday present of penny black stamps, but to say thanks for all the intangible gifts she gives – compassion, patience and humour. take a browse through anne’s gallery and in between all the elegant creations, her funny cards are there, always bringing a smile. thanks anne! no surprise, it’s watercoloured with distress inks. thanks for popping by.

Every Leaf Is A Flower

autumn card in gold and rusty colours with leaves and sentiment
i was inspired by the maple and acorn pattern to make this card for the 300th inspiration challenge, which is my favourite at splitcoaststampers. stef is the hostess with the mostest; she always visits participants and leaves comments, which makes everyone feel welcome to play. i don’t always have the time or mojo, so i was happy i got to have fun today, watercolouring with distress inks and sanding the base. thanks for popping by.

a fruitful thanks

watermelons stamped several times in a square and watercoloured, plus ribbon and a melon thanks sentiment
i needed a thank you card so i opened a cute fruit set from my friend sue for my birthday. this is also the first time i used the letraset aquamarkers i won from the penny black at allsorts challenge in march; very fun to play with – i’ll keep practicing. the ribbon reel  challenge is summer fruit and and use two ribbons/lace or twine, at least one brad and to include a summer fruit element. i used two brads; first i coloured a green brad red and inserted it into the white flower brad.  i’m also submitting this to the free and easy challenge at allsorts and the summer theme at the secret crafter.  thanks for popping by.

More Or Less My Christmas Card

blue snowflakes on white with winter wishes sentiment
the less is more challenge this week is to pick one of 5 squares and leave the rest of the white space alone. my first card is still a work in progress; i really tried to fit the image in the lower right, but it just looked off balance. in my mind’s eye, it would work with a one layer, so in 5 minutes i made this. since i’m so far behind in the monthly christmas card challenge, you might see a lot more like this. thanks for popping by.

A Royal Hello

pink, orange and yellow flowers in a pot with hello sentimenti was inspired by splitcoaststampers’ queen for the day jill’s bright and colourful card that just popped off the screen; i tried to duplicate the colours, but my first case ended up in the trash so i changed the colours.  the image is watercoloured and a small punched butterfly was added. thanks for popping by.

Virtual Stamp Night Hostess Sample 6 mini

black flowers on kraft paper with hang in there sentiment

this is my hostess sample for the last VSN mini challenge last night – slimming down, which was to use the colour kraft, no more than 2 layers of card stock and it has to be encouraging. in the spirit of slimming down, this is a scrapling that was put together very quickly, although now i need time to recuperate and catch up with other challenges.  thanks for popping by.

What’s The Buzz?

smiling bee with balloon and party hat

the buzz is that the Queen For The Day challenges will now become a part of the ‘regular’ splitcoast challenges! it’s a fun weekly challenge, started by Anne Ryan, that honours stampers who regularly participate in weekly splitcoaststampers’ challenges and leave encouraging comments (more than 3 or 4 words) on other stampers’ cards.

this week’s Queen is Pat, aka Foxy67, and i was inspired by this card in Pat’s gallery. the image is watercoloured and i added stickles wherever i could.  thanks for popping by.
