i made another card using an adorable Reverse Confetti koala but this time i’m playing along with the Reverse Confetti sketch for you to try challenge:

I painted this little cutie from the Reverse Confetti bear hug stamp set with twinkling H2Os and added two of the sentiments from the same set. i finished this card earlier in the week but my love/hate view on technology peaked: my camera kept acting up, bought a new one that won’t connect to my outdated modem so my provider will ship me a new one.

i’d also like to submit this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Furry Friends.

i’m playing along with this month’s ellen hutson mix it up challenge; they’re mixing it up with reverse confetti.

i used one of the cute koala images from the reverse confetti bear hug stamp set, painted everything with twinkling H2Os and added the hi there sentiment from the essentials by ellen all inside stamp set. the image panel is popped on foam tape and i have another clean and simple card for my stash.

i was inspired to use this sweet Penny Black stamp, ‘A Tender Hug.’ i painted the sky and image with twinkling H2Os and added yellow stickles to the flower centres.

i created this card for someone who enjoys yeti shows and has a milestone to celebrate.

this cute Darcie’s yeti stamp was painted with twinkling H2Os and i thought the sentiment from the same stamp set was perfect.

i’m playing along with the poppy stamps challenge #31; the theme is ‘gift it’.

design team member Pam Simpson created a beautiful and elegant pillow box, so i was inspired to make one too only mine is much simpler; and, if you know me, i chose a cute and whimsical image. i painted the poppy stamps rudolph reindeer with twinkling H2Os, cut it with the matching die and attached it to a tiny pillow box made from birch tree print christmas paper.

Happy Rudolph Days And Twinkling H2O Tips

it’s the 25th so i’m sharing my DT card for the monthly rudolph days challenge, which runs until the last day of the month. visit scrappymo’s blog to be inspired and have fun!

as usual, i painted the sky and this adorable Darcie’s reindeer with twinkling H2Os, added some snow, a snow drift and a die cut sentiment covered in stickles.

i’ve painted most of my images with twinkling H2Os for years; i love these shimmery watercolour paints! if you haven’t tried them yet, i’d like to share some tips to show you just how easy they are to use.

Twinkling H2O Tips:

Activate: spritz the paint pot(s) to activate.
Wait: put the kettle on and wait at least 5 minutes for the paint to get to a syrup consistency.
Stamp: heat embossed images will help contain the paint in each section of an image. for best results, use watercolour paper and a waterproof ink although twinks do blend well on kraft cardstock with a damp brush; too much water and the kraft paper will pill. the small image below measures 1″ wide by 2 1/4″ long and i painted it from dried palette paints that i reactivated.
Mix: the paint in the pot needs to be evenly blended with the water.
Paint: either direct from pot method for more intense colour or from a palette where you can add water and/or mix colours. A little goes a long way!
Any unused paint on a palette (disposable palette paper, plastic, or my preference – a white corelle sandwich plate used solely for my paints) can be covered (with a paper towel, wax paper or teflon sheet) when dry and reactivated later with a damp paint brush.
Store: if you do want to keep the lids on for storage, let the paint completely dry in the pot; otherwise the lids will glue shut.

i’m playing along with the simon says wednesday challenge theme of bit o’ green and to use taylored expressions products if you have them.

this cute taylored expressions matchbox die was just released and is exactly what i’ve been searching for since i love making 3D items like tags and treat containers. the stamps are from the ‘easter doodles’ set that i painted with twinkling H2Os.

Balloon Bunny

i had an idea after i finished yesterday’s tag so i made another one for the ellen hutson’s mix it up challenge with paper smooches.

i cut the paper smooches Tag Stitched Die from cold pressed watercolour paper, stamped the bunny from the essentials by ellen bear ware set and painted the sky and bunny with Sennelier watercolour paints.

i thought the leftover circles from the paper smooches paint palette die would make balloons for the bunny so i painted them with twinkling H2Os, drew in the balloon strings and added twine.

i’m playing along with ellen hutson’s mix it up challenge and this time they’re mixing it up with paper smooches.

i used the paper smooches Tag Stitched Die for the base, splattered it with two different green twinkling H2Os, and added the sentiment from the essentials by ellen wish big clear set.

the candles and flames were created with the paper smooches paint palette die, all painted with twinkling H2Os, and i added clear wink of stella glitter to the flames.

to finish it off i added another tag in the back, painted and splattered with twinkling H2Os, and ribbon.

i’m also playing along with the paper smooches march challenge to use GREENERY (Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year)! and my favourite colour.

Snow Globe Fun For Rudolph Days

it’s time for february’s rudolph days challenge and i had so much fun creating my design team card with this whimsical image from stampendous.

i love this christmas visions stamp set because it has a few images that fit inside the snow globe along with a few sentiments.

as usual, i painted it with twinkling H2Os, added glossy accents to the ornaments and stickles to the snow; the background was created with a taylored expressions snow embossing folder.

it seems aqua is a colour i don’t use very often and i was so curious about the aqua ice cream that i was inspired to create another card for the Essentials by Ellen February Pin-Sights Challenge:

i painted everything with twinkling H2Os on cold pressed watercolour paper. the cute kitty is from the mama elephant page huggers stamp set and was cut with the coordinating die set. i die cut the hill, stamped flowers from the EBE bear ware set and added aqua stickles to the flower centres.

to finish off, i stamped the sentiment from the EBE wish big set and added the fence made from the page huggers coordinating die set pencil; it’s popped on foam tape so the kitty can be removed and used as a bookmark.

i’m playing along with the Essentials by Ellen February Pin-Sights Challenge and this month’s inspiration is an aqua mood board:

my card was inspired by the ice cream cones; i wonder what aqua tastes like.

the swirled texture made me think of stripes so i painted twinkling H2O stripes on cold pressed watercolour paper and painted opposite stripes on the many thanks die cut sentiment which was layered three times. i also liked the swirls of the die cut bold blossoms, which i painted to match and covered them in glitter. to finish off, i added pearls from the 28 Lilac Lane Party On embellishment kit and attached some gold mini prills.

i found time to create a card for ellen hutson’s mix it up challenge.

i painted the Ellen Hutson ‘wish big‘ by Julie hippo and sky with twinkling H2Os and used Sennelier watercolour paint for the grass. i added the sentiment, using my precision press, and attached seed beads from the 28 Lilac Lane ‘on lilac lane‘ and ‘hello, sunshine‘ jars.

to finish it off, i fussy cut the hat, attached a button, also from the ‘on lilac lane’ jar, added yellow stickles to her toenails and painted the background mat to match.

Love Never Melts

i’m still progressing with my new knee, which has to be a priority, although spending almost three hours daily on rehab doesn’t leave me a lot of time to create.

so i really enjoyed losing myself in painting this sweet image from impression obsession: Eskimo Kisses F6884 for the impression obsession challenge – love is in the air! i watercoloured the image with twinkling H2Os, created the background with magenta nuance powders and added stickles to the hats and the snow heart.

i was inspired by the Essentials by Ellen January Pin-Sights Challenge to create a birthday card for my husband.

the black in three of the photos really stood out for me, especially the gold lettering on black but i also love the pop of yellow next to the blue on the desk. i used stamps from the ‘ALL INSIDE BY JULIE EBERSOLE‘ clear set and heat embossed with wow embossing powder; then i painted a wash of twinkling H2Os for the background, painted in the outline hearts and filled the outline upper case words with a black marker.

it’s time for the first rudolph days challenge of 2017. i was so excited when maureen (scrappymo) invited me to stay on as a design team member; i love making christmas cards year round. i’ll actually be designing every other month beginning in February, but i’m playing along for fun this month.

i painted this cutie with twinkling H2Os and used some red marianne design paper on the right and my own watercoloured background paper on the left that was embossed and sanded.

Bunny Wishes In Pink

i made this card for my daughter to give to her general practice veterinarian who provides excellent care for her bunny.

i painted these adorable images from the memory box bunny wishes set, apparently retiring, with twinkling H2Os and die cut with the matching dies. the background was created with magenta nuance powder which was then embossed with the taylored expressions snow embossing folder.

i added the memory box jingle bell border across the top and some shimmery paper at the bottom, die cut with MFT snow drift dies.

the inspiration for day 8 is my favourite technique of all and one that i use almost every time i create:

i love the colourful inspiration by artist Margaret Berg, who paints outside the lines beautifully, and designer Carly Tee Minner’s interpretation of it so that was my inspiration for my tag.

i painted the lawn fawn stitched circle tag with winsor and newton watercolour paints and added snow. after i die cut the lawn fawn trees i painted them with twinkling H2Os, added stickles and finished it off with two ribbons.

i created another tag for Day 1 of the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist using the colour palette of red, teal, green and pink:

i was inspired by both Laurel Beard and Sandy Allnock, who coloured images for their festive tags.

this time i painted a cute penny black image (love at xmas) with twinkling H2Os and winsor & newton watercolour paints. the background is painted with teal and i used a teal paper for the base; of course i added stickles for the snow and around the edge of the image and i added white flocking for the fur trim. the sentiment is a gold peel off that i coloured with a red permanent marker.

Bunny Wishes

this is a card i made for my daughter to give to one of her veterinarians, a specialist in the care of bunnies among other exotic animals.

i painted all the images from the memory box/simon says stamptember love and laughter stamps set with twinkling H2Os and die cut them with the matching dies. the background was created with distress inks and i painted the ice with twinkling H2Os too and then added some falling snow. to finish it off, i stamped the memory box bunny wishes sentiment on a poppystamps general store tag die and added a snowflake, also from the love and laughter set.

i had fun watercolouring this happy little hedgie delivering snail mail, although it looks like some of it might take even longer to be delivered.

Designing For Rudolph Days October

are you ready for this month’s rudolph days challenge? i had a lot of fun creating this christmas card to add to my stash and i hope you’ll be inspired to work ahead on your cards.

i used valentine papers to create a pocket card featuring this sweet angel image and added a poinsettia that were all watercoloured with twinkling H2Os. i added stickles to her wings, ruffle and around the edge of the frame and a pretty pearl to the poinsettia centre.
