My First Digi Christmas Card

three inch square christmas card in red and white with four snowmen and a die cut snowflake border across the top
i love to watercolour everything and since my printer just chews up my watercolour paper, i don’t do digis. but the talented gina cunningham is the jingle belles‘ guest star who wants us to make a “hybrid” holiday card which utilizes at least one digital element – yikes. i did win a digistamp boutique gift certificate last year and printed one of the images onto 90 lb. watercolour paper that pills with too much water so i made a tiny 3″ card and carefully coloured with distress ink pads and a tiny brush. i cut away some of the memory box frosty border to fit and added stickles. this is also for my friend sandra’s rudolph day challenge – there are only 5 more rudolph days before you need to send out your holiday cards – just thought i’d mention it. thanks for popping by.

  1. This is too cute! I love the colours and the happy feel of it, and I love tiny cards!

  2. I’m with Lianne…your card does have a happy feel…I think those snowmen have been passing the mulled wine flask!
    Very pretty card!

  3. This looks delightful. One of my stamp buddies who watercolors, says that she sprays ‘good quality’ paper (not w/c) with the Krylon spray (and I can get exact name if you let me know) – it’s a sealer. This is after digi prints. Then she paints. Says the lines don’t run. Not tried myself, but this gal has really gotten into digis as she’s run out of storage room. Great job on this one…love that pattern paper. TFS & Happy wkend.

  4. Beautiful image and card Linda. I also ‘don’t do’ digi’s much as I like to stamp onto watercolour as well. But I also like to use Prisma Pencils and they would work well with Digi’s. Something for me to think about. Happy Weekend, Shirleyx

  5. you know, i feel so AHEAD making xmas cards in summer, but when you say, “there are only 5 more rudolph days” i feel like i should HURRY a lot more, lol!!! of course with a stash of gorgeousness like *THIS* you have no worries at all, missus! love♥LOVE♥love the way you’ve (carefully!!!) colored that adorable image, and we’re honored that you stepped into the digi realm just for us JINGLE BELLES!!! ♥♥♥
