i was really challenged by the one layer theme at the Lawnscaping Challenge No. 114!
when i first started making cards, they were CAS and a lot were one layer, but then i fell in love with patterned papers so i kind of shifted my style. my cards still focus on watercoloured images, but they usually include some pretty papers. after several failed attempts, i ended up with this card featuring this cute snail, coloured with faber castell albrecht durer watercolour pencils – the best in my opinion. i added clear stickles to the shell and embossed with a lawn fawn stitched rectangle die.

Very pretty, love the impressed stitched die plate. Really finishes the card off well. I wonder if I can use inktense pencils on kraft cardstock with only small amount of water or if it will swell cardstock. If you have time can you tell me if you used any water or just pencil?
You know I’m a huge fan of yours because your images and coloring are so incredible, but I love this beautifully sweet one layer card. Now that you have this new style down pat, I’m looking forward to more interlaced with your style of making precious cards. This is so perfect for you to send someone, being snailz pace.

This is so cute, love the glittery shell. I remember doing “CAS” when I first started too – the first time I saw a DP cover a whole card I was amazed at the technique!
