i just noticed i have a new follower – welcome! i’m just making the deadline for the jingle belle prompt this time, which is an awesome sketch by guest star brenda; i flipped it to use the mirror image layout. this is also my rudolph day challenge card for february; my friend sandra invites everyone to make christmas creations on the 25th of every month. the presents were part of the kaisercraft design paper so i just had to stamp the sentiment, add the other elements and i was done – another Q & E (quick and easy) card. thanks for popping by.

HO HO H2O! Part 2

this is my second card as a guest star for the jingle belles – lauren and stephanie welcome ideas for prompts so i submitted HO HO H2O, based on my LOVE of colouring with water based products; i challenged myself on a long car ride to come up with an idea. so, you have one more week to “create a card which features icicles, snow, frozen ponds, or any water-related image; OR use water-based products on your project, such as watercolors, water-based markers or sprays, etc.”
i coloured this penny black image with a paintbrush and distress ink pads and added stickles to the snow. the jingle bells were made with the memory box jingle bell border die, coloured with distress stain and shaped with a stylus. i hope you’ll play along too and as always, thanks for popping by.
HO HO H2O!

i am so excited to be a guest star with the jingle belles for the current prompt – thank you lauren and stephanie; they welcome ideas for prompts so i submitted my idea of HO HO H2O, based on my LOVE of colouring with water based products. so, for the next two weeks participants will be challenged to “create a card which features icicles, snow, frozen ponds, or any water-related image; OR use water-based products on your project, such as watercolors, water-based markers or sprays, etc.” i coloured this snow woman with a paintbrush and both distress ink pads and letraset aqua markers and added stickles to her snowflake hair, which i love. i hope you’ll play along too and as always, thanks for popping by.
Reindeer Pup

this is my entry for my friend sandra’s rudolph day challenge to create christmas cards on the 25th of every month and i’m playing along with the my favorite things sketch challenge for the first time. i coloured with a paintbrush and distress ink pads and used MFT die-namics snowflakes. i’m also submitting this to the new word play saturday. thanks for popping by.
edited: in response to brenda’s question, this is penny black’s reindeer pup stamp
Snowflakes

i made another CAS card for my stash and for a couple of challenges: the jingle belles are celebrating Red, White & Jul with an inispiration photo of scandinavian ornaments and the cheery lynn designs theme is snowflakes. this die was one i received for christmas and i love how you can use it to cut multiple snowflakes or use it whole as i’ve done. i attached the white card stock to red and glued the little white bits to the red also. thanks for popping by.
Walking Through Snow

i made another CAS christmas card for my stash, using a new stamp i received for christmas. as usual, i coloured with a brush and distress ink pads, added snow and stickles and i’m submitting it to these challenges:
marianne’s design divas – it’s christmas!
Natalie and Amy’s – your favourite things (colouring!)
jingle belles – new toys
word play saturday – first challenge of ‘anything’
without words – baby, it’s cold outside
sweet stampin’ christmas – cold and frosty!
thanks for popping by.
Grapevine Wreath Card

some of the challenges i play along with want to know about new toys, so i made this card with my new memory box grapevine wreath die and added some loops of new ribbon i bought with the gift certificate i won from the really reasonable ribbon challenge. you’ll want to visit the RRR blog to have a chance of winning one of three Blogoversary Giveaway gift certificates. i’m also submitting this to the jingle belles – look what santa brought me prompt (ok, i couldn’t wait for santa and bought it for myself) and the christmas cards all year round – anything goes. thanks for popping by.
Candy Canes For A Cause

i’ve been keeping busy, just not with cards this time. i die cut gold snowflakes to dress up sixty candy canes to donate to an outpatient mental health clinic; the clients are an often overlooked population and the staff are so appreciative – they love playing santa. last year i coloured and attached snowmen, so i wanted to do something different this year. i’m submitting this to these challenges: tuesday alchemy, anything but a card and the paper players. happy holidays and as always, thanks for popping by.
Twenty Embellishments – It Is Possible

welcome to my new followers; thanks for taking an interest in what i create.
i’ve been playing along with magenta’s 20th anniversary monthly challenges this year; some of them have been quite challenging and this month is one of those – make a creation with twenty embellishments. it took me a while to come up with an idea, but i used 20 seed beads on the magenta holly image that i coloured with coloured pencils. i followed this tutorial on the magenta blog to make this bottle tag.
i’m also submitting it to these challenges:
jingle belles – anything (holidays) goes ends dec 21
holly jolly christmas – vintage christmas ends dec 23
unique crafters – all about christmas ends dec 31
sweet stampin’ christmas – anything goes ends jan 6
thanks for popping by.
Mini Ornament and Mid Month Reminder

this month’s theme at the Penny Black & More Challenge is ‘it’s your choice’ so for my second DT creation i made this mini ornament (1 1/4″) from a snowman image in the christmas every day clear set. i coloured with distress inks and die cut the ornament and hanger with my favorite things die-namics. some of my team mates have created a variety of beautiful projects, which you can find on the blog and i’d love for you to play along too. there are some fabulous prizes and remember, you can use any company’s image, just no digis please.
i’m submitting this to:
jingle belles – anything (holiday) goes
really reasonable ribbon – anything goes and ribbon (gold metallic thread used)
thanks for popping by.
Christmas Carrot

i created this card for my daughter to send to her friends and vets who take care of her bunnies – i kept it clean and simple and resisted adding glitter because i didn’t want any transferring to bunnies or other pets. i coloured with distress inks, added my favorite things die-namics let it snowflakes and i’m submitting it to these challenges:
no matter which – christmas ends dec 16
addicted to stamps and more – bingo; i used red, green and dies ends dec 18
jingle belles – anything holiday goes ends dec 21
the cupcake craftroom – anything goes ends dec 30
unique crafters – all about christmas ends dec 31
the cutie pie – cute christmas ends jan 5
sweet stampin’ christmas – anything goes ends jan 6
joanna sheen – with love at christmas ends jan 10
thanks for popping by.
White And Gold

the really reasonable ribbon challenge of ‘white on white plus one other colour and ribbon’ was a real challenge; i struggle with white on white so i added a lot of gold, including a gold ribbon that is attached like a gift wrapped present just behind the poinsettia. i was excited to have recently won a RRR challenge prize of a gift certificate so i was able to find a nice assortment of ribbons to play with and i was very pleased with the customer service – just in case you *need* some ribbons. i’m also submitting this to the jingle belles anything christmas goes prompt. thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More December – It’s Your Choice

it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new penny black and more challenge; this month it’s your choice! for my DT card, i chose to heat emboss the ornaments from a bright tomorrow, colour with distress inks, cut out and pop them on foam squares; they’re hanging from my favorite things die-namics let it snowflakes. i also added stickles to the ornament tops. the rest of the design team have created a variety of beautiful inspirational projects, which you can find on the blog and i’d love for you to play along too. there are some fabulous prizes and remember, you can use any company’s image, just no digis please.
i’m also submitting this to the jingle belles – anything (holiday) goes theme. thanks for popping by.
Reindeer Christmas Tag

the november bo bunny challenge is to create a tag; i sure have made a lot of tags lately but they’re so much fun. for this challenge, i spent hours stamping, embossing, distressing and then tossing everything. i went on a hunt for papers to start over with and i found this reindeer in the bo bunny blitzen paper pad. i added a red pearl and stickles to the greenery so in the end it was a ten minute project and my third entry to sandra’s rudolph day challenge. thanks for popping by.
Inspired By A Sketch

this week Penny Black designer Jill Foster is showcasing christmas cards at the Penny Black blog – one cute and one elegant, along with sketches and i followed the day 1 sketch for my card. i coloured the tree with distress ink, added seed beads, stickles to the star and popped the die cut circle on top of the sentiment circle after sponging the edges. i traced the ‘celebrate’ sentiment with a stardust glitter pen. i’m submitting this to the holiday greenery theme at the papercraft star challenge and it’s my second card for sandra’s rudolph day challenge. thanks for popping by.
Christmas Bird

it’s the last rudolph day challenge of 2012; wow, already?! sandra (stamping for pleasure) encourages everyone to make a christmas card(s) on the 25th of every month so you won’t panic when it’s time to mail out those cards. i followed the sketch at your next stamp challenge this week and coloured with distress inks as usual, added stickles to the hat and ornament, dew drops and twine. thanks for popping by.
A Jar Of Gingerbreads

welcome to my new followers! thank you for taking an interest in my creations.
i made this tag with materials created by Clare from the Molly Blooms Christmas Carnival magazine and Card Making Kit that i was lucky to have won recently; the image is coloured with distress inks and layered up with papers and ribbon from the kit. i sponged the edges and added a ‘my favorite things’ die cut snowflake and dew drop. i thought the gingerbread cookies suited the last jingle belles prompt for this year (already?!), which is ‘christmas feast’.
i’m also submitting this to these challenges:
really reasonable ribbon – anything but a card ends november 28
stamping sensations – traditional christmas ends november 28
addicted to stamps – tags ends november 24
pan pastel – red and green ends november 23
whimsy stamps inspirations challenge – traditional christmas colouring ends december 1
thanks for popping by.
Season’s Tweetings

the current prompt at the jingle belles is ‘let it sketch’ with a fun sketch by allison fillo. i coloured this cute penny black penguin with distress inks, sponged the sky and added stickles to the snowballs. the sentiment is from the same clear set and the banner is cut with a mini banner die from my favorite things. thanks for popping by.
Christmas Candle

i’ve been playing along with magenta’s 20th anniversary monthly challenges all year; i was so busy following the sketch that i forgot to add a sentiment – oops. i coloured the magenta candle with distress inks, added stickles and popped it with foam squares. i’m also submitting this to the traditional christmas theme at stamping sensations. thanks for popping by.
Basic Shapes

i made this shaped card for my dad; i’m very lucky not to be constrained by the stereotypical masculine cards because the men that i create for like anything i make, including items with ribbon and glitter on them. i’m submitting this to the anything goes theme at the basic grey challenge, the shaped card theme at marianne’s design divas and the shaped theme at christmas cards all year ’round. thanks for popping by and thank you to linda duke for the inspiration.
Polar Bear Snow Globe

it’s been a whirlwind two weeks with out of town conferences and volunteer work, but things are starting to settle down and it felt so good to have a bit of crafting time; now i have to get caught up on some commenting and blog viewing. i made this CAS card for: the jingle belles who are celebrating all living creatures, sandra’s rudolph day challenge and the circle theme at christmas stampin all year long. thanks for popping by.
Happy Rudolph Day And Happy Birthday

i made this card for blogging buddy sandra’s rudolph day challenge to make one or more christmas cards on the 25th of every month. i’ve been way too busy lately, so it was nice to make a QAE (quick and easy) card for the occasion. also, happy birthday today to my daughter, our two month early christmas present, and her first bunny that turns 4. thanks for popping by.
Poinsettia Card For Papercraft Cafe

when i started designing my october DT card for papercraft cafe, my local stamp store, i thought that this new penny black winter magic stamp set was perfect for those 3″ x 3″ cards i love to make, but then i found the tuesday morning sketches blog. this little stamp can be the focal point of any size card; and, because of the sentiment, it still looks ok if you accidentally photograph the card upside down. (not shown, lol) i stamped the poinsettia twice on watercolour paper and just sponged with distress inks, cut some of the leaves away and layered it. thanks for popping by.
Same But Different Snowman Stamp

this week the paper players are playing tic-tac-toe, so i chose christmas, red and blue and buttons. i realize that my card uses the same positive/negative concept and layout as paper players DT member amy white’s card, but i’m case-ing my own snowman stamp card, posted on september 19. i coloured with watercolour pencils and added the shank buttons to some twine. thanks for popping by.
Edited: LeAnne, the snowman is part of the stampendous winter family stamp set.
Holiday Bunny

i made this card for the sketch saturday challenge, and the jingle belles’ dashing through the snow theme. i coloured everything with distress ink pads, added stickles for the snow on the ground and flower soft for the tails and hat trim. i was inspired by stephanie’s card to use the red check with the kraft since i bought the simple stories handmade holidays paper during my last trip to my local stamp store. thanks stephanie and thanks for popping by.
An Easy Christmas Tag

i made what i’m calling a QAE (quick and easy) tag for sandra’s rudolph day challenge to create christmas cards on the 25th of every month. CAS refers to the layout, but it’s not always QAE if you spend a lot of time colouring images like i normally do. this time, i just stamped the sentiment on a pre-made tag from echo park, layered it up, rounded the corners and added a ribbon. thanks for popping by.
Snowman Stamp

i didn’t think i’d get to play along with the current jingle belles ‘going postal’ theme; another RA flare up this week, but i’m just in time for today’s deadline. this little 3 inch card took as long to make as any other size! i coloured the snowman with twinkling h20s and watercolour pencils, popped the image panel on foam tape and added some tiny punched snowflakes. thanks for popping by.
Another Early Christmas Make

this is my second DT card for this month’s Penny Black and More Challenge to create an early christmas project. i coloured the best day ever image with distress ink pads, sponged the edges and added stickles. i swiped an ink pad over the embossed panel, which ended up being a bit uneven, but i think it adds to the distressed style. one more card done; how about you – have you started making your christmas cards? if not, come and play!
i’m also playing along with these challenges:
cute card thursday – christmas in september
sparkle creations – animal prints
christmas crafting! – traditional christmas colours
pin and tack – anything goes
bunny zoes – distressing
thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More September – Christmas Wish

this is my DT card for the September Penny Black and More Challenge – we’re getting ready for Christmas. i coloured this cute teddy with distress inks and used memory box dies: the jingle bells on blue glitter paper and the ticket. the sentiment is from the same stamp set. i’m submitting my card to the following challenges:
heck of a challenge – anything goes ends sept 30
no matter which challenges – die cuts and/or punches ends sept 30
the squirrel and the fox – one for the men ends sept 5
i’d love to see you play along – for inspiration, check out the other DT members’ beautiful Christmas creations at the blog here; there are some fabulous prizes to be won from sponsors Penny Black, Stampalot, Art of Craft, Pretty Little Ribbons. thanks for popping by.
Waiting For Snow

i’m always making christmas cards, although i make more than i actually need so i usually donate some to my local hospital. i coloured this older impression obsession snowman with distress inks and letraset aqua markers, die cut with the memory box snow globe and added a peel off sentiment, punched snowflakes and tiny bow. i’m submitting it to these challenges:
sandra’s rudolph day – the 25th of every month
jingle belles – holiday bingo and i used bling, stickers and ribbon
crafty ann’s – christmas in august
christmas stampin’ all year long – non traditional colours
challenge up your life – christmas in summer
thanks for popping by.
Inspired By Wedgwood

i have an aunt who loves snowmen as much as i do, so when i saw stephanie’s sketch at the jingle belles challenge i knew i’d be checking off one more card from my list this year. i coloured my favourite snowman with distress inks and sponged with blue because my aunt loves wedgwood china. i’m also submitting this card to these challenges:
creative inspirations paint – inspired by monochromatic with a chance to win 5 jars of their paint
stampin’ for the weekend – monochromatic theme with a prize of a Simon Says Stamps voucher of $25
samuel taylor’s blue and white christmas card – there’s a fantastic prize of goodies, including a Marianne Designs Sleigh die
thanks for popping by.
It’s Santa!

sometimes i struggle when i want to play along with a challenge and i have nothing that fits the theme, but not this time. the jingle belles want to see santa or anything else you’d find at the north pole; i had no santa stamps until i luckily won this flourishes santa image last year from one of their challenges. i’m also playing along with the flourishes timeless tuesday christmas in july and this is my second entry to sandra’s rudolph day challenge. the image is stamped in sepia archival ink and i used coloured pencils on the holly and berries with distress ink sponged onto santa’s face. thanks for popping by.
Green Christmas

i don’t usually like making duplicates, but sandra’s rudolph day challenge to make six in june has inspired me to create more than one card at a time; it’s a great way to build my stash and it goes faster with CAS designs. this one took a bit longer than i thought it would because i cut the sentiment separately and added it on top; i also sanded the surface to reveal the white. the jingle belles challenge was to use red or green, but not both and it was very difficult to resist adding red to the berries, but i like the look. thanks for popping by.
Vintage Santa

i finally cut into my kaisercraft december 25th collection papers to create this card. after i trimmed the santa image, i punched holly and die cut the poinsettia from the same papers and added a gold glitter mat and gold stickles. i’m submitting this card to these challenges: the jingle belles’ vintage style, the paper players’ christmas in july and the christmas cards all year ’round, which is to include holly or poinsettia. thanks for popping by.
Unique Snowflakes for Rudolph Day June 2012

sandra (stamping for pleasure) issued a real challenge for this month’s rudolph day (25th of every month); because it’s the 6th month, make 6 cards, tags, etc. since my cards are so easy and fun to make, i created a set of 8 and just like real snowflakes each one is unique. thanks for popping by.
