this is the first time i’m playing along with the Avery Elle challenge and this month’s theme: AEI♥U Challenge 33–Friendship!

i thought these little cuties were perfect for the theme and it was fun to use them for something other than halloween. i watercoloured two of the monsters from the avery elle clear stamp set with twinkling H2Os and stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of the AE bookmark die to use as a tab and sponged it with distress ink.

this fun card was made with someone special in mind, using an action wobble on the elephant to make it interactive.
i watercoloured with twinkling H2Os and fussy cut but since his tail was just a line i snipped it off and put some twine in its place; the sentiment is lawn fawn.

i’m playing along with the My Favorite Things Color Challenge 38; the cool colours are my favourite to use, but i thought this was such a pretty palette!
i watercoloured this sweet image with twinkling H2Os, mixing some of the colours to match as closely as possible to the challenge colours, and used the same twinks to create the mat; another CAS card for my stash.
i’m also playing along with kathy’s 30 day colouring challenge; this was coloured in stages over several days.

i made another card featuring this adorable wplus9 elephant for a special someone who really enjoyed the last one i made.
i fussy cut the elephant, used a wplus9 heart balloon die, watercoloured them both with twinkling H2Os and popped them on foam tape. the wplus9 sentiment is from the same stamp set and the hello was die cut from coordinating old kaisercraft paper and attached to fun foam. to finish it off, i added some twine around the trunk and i hope this card will be as well received as the last.

i’m playing along with the Wplus9 Throwback Thursday Challenge #10, although i’m just making the deadline. i don’t have the featured dies but i love designer maureen’s card with the quilted squares so here’s what i created:
i used the small stitching line from the doodle buds stamp set and added washes of twinkling H2Os, matted it on black card stock and used the sentiment from the same set.

i created this card for my dad, who will celebrate his 91st birthday in two weeks, following the MFT sketch challenge.
i think this MFT stamp set is adorable and i was so glad to see the birthday sentiment in it. i watercoloured with twinkling H2Os and free hand cut the sentiment, attached MFT die-namics banners and some pretty pink posh gold star sequins.

i was really challenged by the one layer theme at the Lawnscaping Challenge No. 114!
when i first started making cards, they were CAS and a lot were one layer, but then i fell in love with patterned papers so i kind of shifted my style. my cards still focus on watercoloured images, but they usually include some pretty papers. after several failed attempts, i ended up with this card featuring this cute snail, coloured with faber castell albrecht durer watercolour pencils – the best in my opinion. i added clear stickles to the shell and embossed with a lawn fawn stitched rectangle die.

i’m so glad i found time to have some fun creating this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge No. 113 – TEXTURE!
i painted the sky and images with twinkling H2Os, die cut and popped them on foam tape. the hand cut grass and die cut trees were embossed with the tim holtz woodgrain embossing folder and then coloured with distress inks. i finally got the lawn fawn rectangle stitching dies and i added an elizabeth craft hello.

i coloured this cute hedgie image from using Penny Black wonderful 30-029 clear stamp set with twinkling h2os and since this is a masculine birthday card, i resisting adding my usual stickles.

one of my daughter’s bunnies had a couple of teeth pulled so i made this card for her to give to one of the vets; he’s a specialist. the impression obsession challenge is clean and simple which is perfect – a masculine CAS card is all i needed. i coloured the background and the IO resting rabbit (D8380) with twinkling H2Os, traced over the grass with a derwent inktense pencil and added flower soft to his tail.
i’m also playing along with 101: watercolour and this week’s theme is fun time; i always enjoy losing myself in my watercolouring.

i’m excited about a brand new weekly challenge called 101: watercolor :102 that will focus on watercolor techniques with weekly assignments so you can practice and submit your outcome.
although i watercolour my images, i don’t always use the techniques, so this week’s assignment to use salt was a refreshing change; i sprinkled fairly coarse sea salt on my wash of three different twinkling H2O greens, let it dry and then die cut the leaves with a memory box die. unfortunately, i need a sympathy card so i used a sentiment from an impression obsession clear stamp set. thanks for popping by.

i’m playing along with the “More Than One Score” Scor-pal Challenge #5 and this month’s theme of bright and sunny. I searched for quick and easy cards since i was short on time and i found this cute card by Diane Zechman so i used my Scor-pal and cased the design; i tried to change the pointed edge with a die cut shape, but none would fit.
i watercoloured these Penny Black images with Twinkling H2Os, Derwent Inktense Pencils and Distress Ink pads; i cut the lemons out since i used watercolour paper and used a velcro closure on the flap; this was a fun card to make.
EDIT: i was lucky enough to be a top three and last month’s scor-pal challenge winner for this card and my prize arrived just after i posted this today – thanks so much scor-pal for the Scor-Buddy and roll of tape!

i was commissioned to make a card for someone who wanted bright, cute, cheerful and with mice; it was so much fun to colour these penny black mice images from the ‘homemade’ set. as usual, i coloured with distress ink pads and twinkling H2Os and i masked the sentiment to stamp half on the first panel and the other half on the second; i added a blank white panel to the the final section of the s-fold as requested for a hand written note after i took this photo. i lightly sponged the image panels with distress ink and used patterned paper from pink pettitcoat; i was inspired by sally’s adorable lemonade card.
