guitar playing hedgehog on red and beige dotted backgroundas a hostess for next weekend’s virtual stamp night challenge at splitcoaststampers, i couldn’t resist the title and the opportunity to send out a reminder to join the fun.

this week’s penny black saturday challenge is a masculine card. i’m so lucky that my husband doesn’t mind if i put flowers or bows on my cards for him; he likes anything i make, so masculine cards for me are not difficult. :)  i watercoloured hedgie, distressed the edges, and covered the guitar in glossy accents. i added stickles to the rose and used a wooden button from my mother-in-law’s antique button collection.

    I’m not supposed to be online today, but I needed to check my email for a recipe my daughter sent me, so I just had to come and take a peek at what you’re up to. I love the hedgie and his sweet lit’l glazed guitar. Your card is just darling and I especially love the button and hand crafted coordinating flowers! A winner on all counts. Hugs, Anne

  6. Linda, this is so adorable. Beautifully colored, as always. Your little hedgies are always perfect. Love the stickles on the rose and the gloss on the guitar. Very pretty punched border … that’s one of my favorite MS punches.

  17. Adorable card Linda! Love the muted tones. And of course, you know I love that image – {sigh} another one to add to my list. ;-)

    I would be interested to know what ink pad you use for stamping onto the Watercolor paper. I use Stazon Jet black but always seem to have little parts of the image that haven’t stamped cleanly/unevenly. I do go back and ink up the missing bits with my pen, but it’s just one of those little annoying things, esp. when lots of bits are missing and I end up needing to restamp.
