Love Is In The Air At Penny Black And More

this is my mid-month DT card to remind you that you have until january 29 to play along with the love and romance theme this month at the penny black and more challenge. i used one of the images from the penny black ‘every which way’ clear set and painted the sky with my new water-soluble wax pastels and then i used coloured pencil, distress ink pads, twinkling H2Os to colour everything else. this is my valentine card for my husband, who loves scrabble; i found these tiny scrabble letters in a clearance bin years ago, but the dotted paper is new from whimsy stamps and so is the corrugated DCWV paper.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
great impressions: use something new (water-soluble wax pastels, whimsy stamps & DCWV papers)
whimsy stamps inspirations:  #67 something new
the squirrel and the fox: #61 show off your new stuff
penny’s paper-crafty: embellishments
DRS Designs: love and marriage
penny black: sending hugs

thanks for popping by.

  1. lol it’s adorable!!! The way you coloured the sky is amazing, and the dog is so cute and funny. Lots of great detail and texture, too.

  2. Oh my gosh…this is so cute. My DH’s family played scrabble almost every night. We kept up this tradition weekly when we were raising our girls. Now we play a few times a week when we are up at the lake.
This card brought back many fond memories…

It is a lovely card and image made even lovlier by those fab letters.
