A Very Vibrant Christmas Card

the jingle belles have a beautiful inspiration photo for their very vibrant prompt. i was inspired by the green, purple and blue and the geometric shapes, which somehow ended up as stripes on my card; i usually start off in one direction and go somewhere completely different.

memory box merry christmas

in this case, i like the traditional typeface with the non traditional colours and i have one more christmas card for my stash. thanks for popping by.

Jingle Bell

i’ve not been well, the usual RA symptoms, but i really needed to create something. the jingle belles’ current prompt is to make shaped christmas cards, so i drew a bell and decorated it with designer paper, holly and a poinsettia, all edged with gold ink and finished off with a bow. the fold is at the top, but i really like lauren’s idea of ‘post card’ style cards and might do that next time. jinglebell thanks for popping by.

Christmas Pressies

a warm welcome to a new follower; thank you for taking an interest in my creations.

the jingle belles would like to see new supplies so i’m sharing a card that i created with two new items i treated myself to: a hero arts background stamp that i heat embossed with white embossing powder and coloured with twinkling H2Os and the merry christmas sentiment die that i just had to have after admiring one of my teamie lynn’s cards; i die cut the sentiment three times to give it dimension.

merrychristmas

i’m also playing along with rudolph day – scrappymo is now continuing this monthly challenge started by sarn and sponsoring it at her blog, scraps of life by scrappy mo on the 25th of every month, but you have until the end of each month to join in.

thanks for popping by.

Wrap It Up Twice

the jingle belles’ ‘wrap it up’ prompt is to create with wrapping paper or tags; yesterday i shared a tag and today i have these 3 inch cards that came together very quickly with wrapping paper. i love goofy snowmen. just because i felt guilty about no stamping and colouring, i stamped a blue snowflake on the inside.

Season’s Greetings

this is my last post for this year and i’m taking a bit of a break until the new year to visit with my daughter and the bunnies, so hope you enjoy your holidays. i created a small round card using one of the images from the Cuddly Buddly Merry Little Christmas clear stamp set that i water coloured with twinkling H2Os and derwent inktense pencils.

Merry Little Christmas.Linda

i heat embossed the sentiment from the Poinsettia Collage clear stamp set onto vellum, cut it and attached it. the green mat is cut from Marianne Design 6″x6″ Paper Bloc – Classic Christmas PK9113.

Cuddly Buddly Snow Girl

this is the last of the creations i made using adorable images from the Cuddly Buddly Snow Family clear stamp set and i had so much fun colouring them all. this cute image is also water coloured with twinkling H20s, fussy cut and popped on foam tape. i stamped and heat embossed one of the snowflakes from the Cuddly Christmas Buddies clear stamp set as a resist and washed with twins and distress inks.

cuddly buddly snow family tag

i used Kim’s Digi Papers – Silent Night, available at the Cuddly Buddly shop, for the pink at the top.

Cuddly Buddly Snow Boy

just a quick post of another holiday card featuring a different image from the Cuddly Buddly Snow Family clear stamp set; this cute little guy is water coloured with twinkling H20s as usual and it was a lot of fun to colour.

Penny Black And More mid December Caroling Mice

this is my mid month reminder that you still have plenty of time to join the penny black and more challenge for the special occasions theme. for my DT card, i created another christmas card, this time using my all time favourite penny black christmas image – carolling trio. i had the smaller image in a clear set, but i had to have the larger cling image – more to watercolour. :)

penny black carolers

i started by painting the sky and then the mice, all with twinkling H2Os, added snow, a double bow and a treble clef die cut from my favourite  things.

visit the blog for some beautiful creations by my team mates and for all the fabulous prizes and rules and remember, playing along is easy – just make sure your focal point is a stamped image from any company, except no digs allowed.

Striped Tag

i managed to create one more tag for Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2014 Challenge! maybe next year i’ll be able to do all twelve, but for now i’m just happy i participated.

designer julie ebersole created a pink ombre tag on day 1, but deliberately painted stripes. i loved the look of the stripes so i was inspired to paint twinkling H2Os stripes in different colours on my tag; i also painted tiny stripes on the cuffs of the memory box die cut mittens, which are popped on foam tape.

striped tag with mittens

i added some tiny pink gems and i have another tag for my stash that was a lot of fun to make.

i’d also like to submit this to these challenges:

Jingle Bell Fun

i found time to create another tag for Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2014 Challenge! i was inspired by Jill Foster’s Day 7 tag; her penny black images are always so colourful and vivid regardless of the medium she uses, but she used watercolour pencils on her tag. i painted this penny black image with: Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils, sennelier watercolour paints and my twinkling H20s. From Our House

the house of cards challenge is having an end of term blog hop and DT call; here’s the beautiful inspiration photo:

better homes chocolate and turquoise placesetting

i went with the colours and trees to create this scene. the house and trees are marianne design dies; i lightly sanded the card stock of the house, used marianne design snow paper for all the snow and popped everything on foam tape. i painted a wash of yellow twinkling H2Os to attach behind the windows and door.

marianne design house scene

i’d also like to submit this to the winter theme at marianne’s design divas challenge.

thanks for popping by.

Rudolph The Pink Nosed Reindeer

i did it! i finally created a tag for Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2014 Challenge! i’ve been in awe of the creative talent of those designers showcasing their tags and my past efforts were all bin-worthy. but, i was determined to participate this year and i really stepped outside my comfort zone and managed to produce something worth keeping – ok, giving, since it’s for someone special.

christmas tag with turquoise, pink and rudolph the pink nosed reindeer

i was inspired  by the Day 4 tag by Kelly Alvarez; i love the colours and the sponged pink background, but since i love my twinkling H20s and painting watercolour washes, that’s how i created mine.

Poppystamps Challenge #3 – Sparkle & Shine: you can never see the shimmer in the photo, but i water coloured poppy stamps rudolph and the pink background with twinkling H2Os as usual and added plenty of stickles for snow. i cut up individual branches of poppy stamps berry sprig die and attached to the turquoise base.

Mama Snow Woman

i used my scor-pal to create this pocket card, another Cuddly Buddly DT card, this time using the mama from the Snow Family clear stamp set that i water coloured with twinkling H20s as usual; i used Kim’s Digi Papers – Silent Night and you might recognize my favourite poinsettia – Poinsettias Miniature LR0142.

Penny Black And More December – Special Occasions

it’s time for a new theme at penny black and more challenge and this month we’d like to see creations for those special occasions; i’m sticking with christmas. i used Penny Black ‘Snowy‘ wood stamp 2521K to make another set of cards.

i kept the layout simple without any embellishments for mailing purposes – and for me too just because i don’t like mass producing cards, but i did them in stages so it worked out well.

penny black snowy

i water coloured with twinkling H2Os, added flower soft to the hat, black stickles to the buttons, glossy accents to the nose and a bit of snow.

visit the blog for some beautiful creations by my team mates and for all the fabulous prizes and rules and remember, playing along is easy – just make sure your focal point is a stamped image from any company, except no digs allowed.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:

Papa Snowman

this is a Cuddly Buddly DT card that i created for my husband. i used one of the images from the Cuddly Buddly Snow Family clear stamp set and water coloured with twinkling H20s as usual; the sentiment is from the Merry Little Christmas set. I’m in the process of colouring the whole snow family but papa is the first one that got made into a card; they’re all so cute.

Cuddly Buddly Snow Family

i found the perfect papers to match at the Cuddly Buddly shop:
Kim’s Digi Papers – A Portfolio of Papers – Ochre
Marianne Design – Christmas Wishes

along with the Marianne Design Creatables Die – Poinsettias Miniature LR0142; i love the smaller size for the card sizes I make, like this one that’s 4 and 1/2 inches.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
sweet stampin christmas: snow people
mod squad challenge: frosty the snowman!
crafting for all seasons: ’tis the season
the male room: masculine ribbon

Candy Cane Wishes

the current jingle belles prompt is Christmas Feast and i love candy canes! jingle bell rudolph i used the poppy stamps candy cane die for the antlers, black gems for the eyes and a jingle bell for the nose. the darcie’s clear stamp sentiment is intentionally wonky and not a result of my hands for once – another quick and easy card. thanks for popping by.

Criss Cross Christmas Card

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used images from the cuddly buddly winter wonderland clear set; i love that the scene makes for a quick card. i stamped the deer on watercolour paper, coloured with distress inks, fussy cut and attached to the front. for the inside pull out, i used one of the two sentiments included in the set and lightly sponged with distress ink.

cuddly buddly winter wonderland

Matching Tag:

i stamped two of the snowflake stamps from the winter wonderland with white ink, added some dots of snow and used the other sentiment included in the set. i watercoloured the deer with distress inks, fussy cut, attached them to some glitter paper and added raffia ribbon.

Season’s Greetings

my daughter requested cards for animal lovers and her bunnies’ vets so i created this card that is flat for mailing. i used three marianne design products: the snow paper for my snow, cut from my own template, the trees and the greeting; i stamped the poppy stamp rudolph, used the matching die to cut out and watercolour with twinkling H2Os.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:

bunny zoe’s crafts: snow

Cuddly Buddly Christmas Bear

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used this adorable bear from the Time for Giving Clear Stamp set, which was so much fun to colour with twinkling H2Os. i made this card more masculine because it’s going to a man, but it would work equally well in more feminine colours too.

Time for Giving.Linda

i used the sentiment from the Toby Tumble’s Snowy Day clear stamp set and the holly leaves were die cut from the Leane Creatief Holly Leaves & Pine Branches die set.

Matching Tag:
i used the sentiment from the Toby Tumble & Robins Sentiment and the same holly leaves die.

Merry Little Christmas

for this Cuddly Buddly DT card, i used one of the cute images from the new clear stamp set – Merry Little Christmas CBS0007.

cuddly buddly merry little christmas

this adorable image was a lot of fun watercolouring with my twinkling H2Os. the sentiment is stamped with brilliance ink and heat embossed and the leane creatief embossing folder border snow was sanded to expose the white core. i used a couple of dies, all listed below with links to the cuddly buddly store: two poinsettias were cut from white card stock and one from vellum that i sponged with distress ink; the tiny solid snowflake was cut from marianne design ‘snow paper’ and attached to the bow; the other snowflake was used on the two corners. of course i had to add stickles to the stars on her hat, sentiment and ruffle trim. thanks for popping by and be sure to visit the Cuddly Buddly Blog for some very inspiring tutorials for holiday creations and check out the Cuddly Buddly facebook page for more projects and news.

Santa’s Almost On His Way!

well he’s getting ready and he’ll be here before you know it. i think this Santa from the Cuddly Buddly Jolly Santa clear stamp set is the cutest.

This image was a lot of fun watercolouring with my twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is one of two that are included in the set and there are some smaller images that are perfect for backgrounds or tags. Cuddly Buddly Robin

as you can see, i’m quickly adding to my stash of christmas cards. for this DT card, i’ve used this oh so cute robin from the Toby Tumble & Robins clear stamp set, just one of many adorable Cuddly Buddly christmas stamp sets. i watercoloured the image with twinkling H2Os, stamped and cut the leaves out, heat embossed them for shine and attached them back on to the card. the sentiment is in the same set and stamped in green. i added stickles to the hat, some snow and attached it to the green layer embossed with the Leane Creatief Embossing Folder – Background Snowflakes; it embosses beautifully.

Cuddly Buddly Winter Walkies

i’m having a lot of fun designing with the new clear stamp line from Cuddly Buddly; they stamp beautifully and even the most detailed images allow for a lot of colouring space and you know how much i love to colour. the image used on this card is one included in the new and adorable  “Winter Walkies” clear stamp set.

Cuddly Buddly Winter Walkies

I watercoloured with twinkling H2Os, added the Marianne Design Greeting and Leane Creatief Snowflake. there are so many creative projects on the blog that feature more of the new clear stamp line and the shop stocks a large variety of craft supplies.

i’d like to submit this to the sweet stampin’ just for men challenge theme. thanks for popping by.

Cuddly Buddly Polar Bear

this is my first card as a design team member for cuddly buddly’s new clear stamp line; this adorable polar bear is one of the cute images in the Cuddly Christmas Buddies clear stamp set and is available in the shop. The stamps are high quality, stamp beautifully and are very reasonable; the shop displays prices in pounds, euros and american dollars.

I watercoloured with twinkling H2Os, layered the Marianne Design snowflake, added snow and a gold ribbon. check out cuddly buddly on facebook for free giveaways every weekend and check out the blog for some very creative projects that feature some more adorable stamps. thanks for popping by.

Christmas Treat Boxes

i used my scor-pal to create these triangle boxes for the scor-pal august challenge: “more than one score” – food for thought. these are so quick to make and the size can be easily changed to fit any treat; these will hold a small amount of hershey kisses. i just added stamped and matted sentiments and ribbon.

Christmas Penguin

i’m starting to make more christmas cards because in only three months they’ll need to be mailed out. i used this Pachela Studios Digital Stamp available at the Cuddly Buddly shop, but it’s also available in a clear stamp set.

cuddlybuddlypenguin

it was a lot of fun colouring this adorable image; i watercoloured the sky, penguin and tree with twinkling H2Os, added snow and popped it on foam tape. the snowflake border is a memory box die and the papers are from carta bella; i’m glad i bought two of those paper pads because i love the colours. thanks for popping by.

Christmas Stocking

the current jingle belles prompt is to shape up for the holidays and create a shaped card. i found this stocking pattern from the very talented katherine frei, who made a christmas stocking gift card holder; mine is just the card with the fold at the top that i’ll give to my dad. you can see the inside which is covered in brown paper with a deer print.

Salty Snow Globe

this week’s 101:water-color assignment is to use the salt watercolour technique in an embellishment/focus point.

101WCgame02

memory box snow globe

i kind of jumped ahead last week when i used my salt watercolour leaves as my focal point, but luckily, i had leftover twinkling H2O bits so i used them to create the trees for the snow globe. this week i created the sky and woodgrain trim with my caran d’ache water-soluble wax-pastels and sea salt, both die cut with the memory box snow globe die and popped on foam squares; the stars were die cut from a twinks/salt wash. i added some details to the tiny snowmen, also a memory box die and i added the ribbon and MFT Die-namics snowflake. thanks for popping by.

Merry Christmas

i’m really cutting it close to the deadline, 1 hour from now, for the jingle belles prompt to use the challenge blog header, created by lauren, as your inspiration and sandra’s rudolph day challenge to create two or more christmas cards on the 25th of every month. i cased a card i made last year and used hologram and glitter paper for the poinsettias, cut the memory box merry christmas, layered it over glitter paper and added some pearls; a quick and easy card.

Shopping My Christmas Stash

the jingle belles are holding a special crossover event with the shopping our stash challenge so i went digging through my holiday stash and found this 3 year old molly blooms gingerbread stamp that, shamefully, i’ve not used yet.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i watercoloured him with distress ink pads and tombow markers, painted the sky and added snow and i edged the shape with stickles. i found this 1 year old paper to pair him with and i have a christmas card for my husband.

i’d also like to submit this card to the sweet stamping – christmas in july theme. thanks for popping by.

Peaceful Holiday Wishes

wishing you i’ve missed playing along with some of my favourite christmas card challenges, but thanks to my favorite things die-namics blueprints sketches, this one didn’t take much time, something i don’t seem to have enough of lately. the jingle belles are celebrating PEACE …incorporate a Peace Symbol or the word PEACE into your design … or you can create a card that evokes Peace for you and these soft and muted colours do that for me; the sentiment is computer generated. i did a lot of sponging and added stickles to the flower centres. sandra’s rudolph day challenge is to create two or more holiday cards so the photo below shows the two together. i’d also like to submit this card to one crazy stamper – anything goes and an embellishment. thanks for popping by.

yay, i had time to play! i watercoloured this cute image with twinkling H2Os and it was so much fun to colour. i added some pink frantage, sponged the poinsettias and the edge of the image with distress inks and popped the image on foam squares. i used sketch No. 85 at the papertake weekly challenge since this week it’s a sketchie free for all. i’m also playing along with the one crazy stamper March “Anything Goes and Whimsy Stamps” Challenge since i actually bought this stamp from OCS. i’d also like to submit this to the stamping sensations pretty in pink challenge theme for march. thanks for popping by.
