i’m back! my computer had a melt down, although i’ve been blaming my ISP all week, which asked me to monitor my connection. i was convinced it couldn’t be the computer because it’s less than three years old, but some would say i’m lucky for it to have lasted that long. my new computer is up and running so i can post again and catch up over the next couple days. anyway, this month’s challenge is to use your first magenta stamp, so here it is – a dogwood; i get a lot of comments about my ‘soft’ cards and it’s the soft look of this stamp that appealed to me. the card looks crooked, but it’s straight; i’m also still getting used to my new camera. thanks for popping by.

Jingle All The Way

this is my card for the jingle belles ‘a banner holiday’ challenge to be inspired by their new blog header. these hedgies came to mind, so i coloured them with distress inks and made a CAS card. after seeing the DT cards with the memory box jingle bell die, i’m tempted to add the die to my ever growing wish list. thanks for popping by.
Thinking Of Spring

this week’s inspiration challenge at splitcoaststampers took us to charleston gardens where i found this cute bunny. the image is coloured with distress inks and i’m also submitting this to lili’s little fairies challenge: spring colours. for once, i created a card so quickly that the link wasn’t up yet. :) thanks for popping by.
Floral Frenzy

floral frenzy is the theme of this week’s penny black saturday challenge and i’m also submitting this to the open theme at flutterby wednesday; at least that’s my plan, unless the internet connection keeps acting up. the image is coloured with distress inks and i added some stickles to the butterflies. thanks for popping by.
Love Graffiti

this cute graffiti artist is coloured with distress inks and this is my valentine card for my husband, who usually gets hedgie cards regardless of the occasion. i’m submitting it to these challenges:
penny black and more at allsorts love and hearts theme
allsorts – one or more hearts
paper sundaes – valentine’s
crafter’s companion – love is in the air
simply create too – love is in the air
thanks for popping by.
Rudolph Day In January
it’s the first rudolph day for 2012! for the past couple of months, i’ve joined my friend sandra on the 25th of every month to make a christmas card(s). i’ve been seeing some adorable forever friends bear cards, so i inked up this neglected stamp and coloured it with distress inks. i’m submitting it to these challenges:
gingerloft challenge – let it snow
house of gilli – winter
crafty bloggers network – distressing
card crafter’s circle – bears
heidi’s hobbystugga – winter with shades of blue
Time To Celebrate

this sweet image was fun to colour with distress inks and i’m submitting it to the following challenges:
penny black saturday – anything goes
creative inspiration paint – inspired by birthdays
joanna sheen – celebrations
thanks for popping by.
Relaxing Teddy

the lili’s little fairies challenge is to use your favourite lili of the valley stamp; this is the first LOTV stamp i bought and it’s still my favourite. i’m also submitting it to the anything goes theme at the let’s ink it up and pan pastel challenges. thanks for popping by.
Flourishes 2.0.1.2. Challenge

this is another of those very quickly made cards for another flourishes noon time challenge: using 2.0.1.2, the challenge is to use only 2 colours, 0 bling, at least 1 embellishment and only 2 layers (not including the card base). i almost completed the third challenge, but i was working on a bookmark instead of a card – oops; and then i ran out of time. anyway, thanks for popping by.
Year Of The Dragon Challenge – Flourishes

i quickly created this card for a flourishes noon time challenge to be inspired by the colours of the dragon with red, orange and a bit of yellow. thanks for popping by.
CASEd With Permission

this week’s penny black saturday challenge is to CASE-IT – a card by DT member beth, which i followed quite literally so it came together quickly. i can understand why people CASE cards – someone else does the work; however, all over blog land, i notice and respect the copyright owner’s right to decide what they will or will not allow regarding their own creations.
i recently started a thread on splitcoaststampers regarding this hot topic after someone CASEd one of my cards without permission and passed it off as her own. some vociferous protesters believe if something’s on the ‘net, it’s there to be CASEd – an acronym with varied meanings, depending on one’s perspective; others were petty and chastised or mocked me for my position.
to avoid any further confusion here, i am not referring to being inspired to use a certain product or colours; only the CASEing without permission and copyright infringement.
i respect the creative soul and the expressions thereof; it is out of respect that i ask others to do the same for me. thanks for popping by.
Marshmallow Hugs
The Beauty Of Winter

i created this card for the flourishes december bring back beautiful challenge and for my dad, who turns 87 next week. we don’t have any snow yet, so i enjoyed creating this wintery scene, but it’s so dull today that the extra lighting i used makes the glitter paper look silver instead of gold. anyway, thanks for popping by.
Hoppy Holidays

hoppy holidays seems like an appropriate greeting for everyone; it’s better than my bah humbug, right? i’ve had this cute penny black frog for almost two years; i coloured him with aquamarkers and distress inks, added flower soft to the hat and stickles for snow. i’m submitting it to the following challenges:
penny black saturday – make a tag
one crazy stamper – christmas/holiday
flower soft – happy holidays
crimbo crackers – snowflakes
oldie but goodie – christmas animals
thanks for popping by.
Hedgie Bakes A Cake

i still haven’t finished my christmas cards, (shame on me!) but i’m taking a break from those because i need a birthday card. i coloured the image with distress inks, as usual, added the tablecloth and popped the balloons. i’m submitting this to the penny black and more at allsorts challenge. thanks for popping by.
Silly Snowman Project
i try to keep busy this time of year, so i was glad to be commissioned to make some of these matchbook candy holders, which are coloured with distress inks.

here’s the inside; they hold one ghirardelli square. have you tasted these candy cane ones? of course i had to sample them first – yum! thanks for popping by.
Two Cool Friends
i made this for a few challenges, but first i have to thank my blogging buddy sandra for the oh so sweet image that i coloured with distress inks as usual. this is for the splitcoaststampers’ inspiration challenge, flower soft challenge 41 to think snow, the bingo line of pearls, stickles, ribbon for the stampalot challenge and the pan pastel UK challenge of the great outdoors. thanks for popping by.
Tagging My Friend, Anne
the splitcoaststampers’ free for all challenge on friday was to make a tag inspired by a cyber friend’s gallery…and call her out to join in the challenge. i tagged anne; i love her elegant CAS cards with her signature beautiful bows, but also her cards that show off her sense of humour, which always make me smile. the image is coloured with distress inks and of course i added stickles. thanks for popping by.
Skating Hedgie

i made this clean and simple card for the penny black saturday challenge of christmas + red + embossing, which was very challenging. the image is coloured with distress inks with stickles on his hat and you might be able to see the stickles for snow; it’s so dull this morning and we’re supposed to get some of that white fluffy stuff. thanks for popping by.
Fancy Fold For Flourishes

i created this joy fold card for the november flourishes bring back beautiful challenge – beauty of a fold. i once made a rectangle joy fold card so this time i tried the square one, following beate’s tutorial on splitcoaststampers. the image is coloured with distress inks, as usual, and i went with one of my favourite colour combos – pink and green. thanks for popping by.
Cozy Bunnies

my daughter asked me to make some more christmas cards for her, but with bunnies on them this time; so i coloured the buns to look like her two adorable bunnies. i coloured with distress inks and markers and put stickles on the branches and ground, which doesn’t show because it’s another gloomy day. anyway, i followed the freshly made sketches #12 and i’m submitting this to the panpastel challenge 10 – animals and the paper sundaes winter wonderland theme. this counts as november’s rudolph day card; my friend sandra makes a christmas card(s) on the 25th of every month – yes, i’m late, but i made up for that by making a set of these. thanks for popping by.
i couldn’t match the dark bunny’s fur; she would be a big dark blob. lol.
Teacup Mice

it felt good to have enough time to create a card today; this is for two challenges – the stampalot to use blue and green and the one crazy stamper theme of food or drink. the image is coloured with distress inks, pierced and popped with foam squares and i used my new border punch on the edges. thanks for popping by.
Round Like A Wreath

i created this round easel card yesterday for the flourishes november christmas spirit challenge – round like a wreath; i just couldn’t take a good picture with the gloomy weather. today, i checked out the other flourishes challenges and found that i used the same image and papers as heather used on her beautiful challenge hostess card. i watercoloured with distress inks, added stickles to both of the white circles and the berries. thanks for popping by.
Hedgie Tote

i’ve been enjoying creating these quick and easy totes. the image is watercoloured with distress inks as usual; i added glossy accents to the star and some seed beads to the tree. thanks for popping by.
i’m submitting this to the following challenges:
penny black saturday – green and trees
penny black & more at allsorts – all creatures great and small
winter wonderland – awwwwwwwww what a cutie; use any cute Christmas Image
wags ‘n whiskers – christmas themed
Chilly Days

it is getting colder, but not quite cold enough for snow. i squeezed in some time to create another christmas card; this was such a fun image to colour, as usual, with distress inks. i used liquid pearls for the snow dots, stickles on the stars and ground, and punched three different snowflakes and then distressed the edges. i’m submitting this to:
the paperlane challenge – snowflakes and sparkle
crimbo crackers – make it sparkle
stamping scrapping challenge central – christmas/holidays challenge; tim holtz distress ink pads can be found here
samuel taylors crafts challenge – christmas cards; this month’s prize is a Martha Stewart Double Craft Punch “Icelandic Snowflake”
thanks for popping by.
edited: since i use wordpress to blog with, i can’t always link up to challenge blogs that limit participants to those who use blogger; for the same reason, i can’t always ‘follow’ blogs i’d like to or get updates.
Detachable Bookmark Card
i finally got around to making one of these; the tutorial was posted about a year ago on splitcoastampers, but you know me – i often play catch up.

i’m submitting this to the really reasonable ribbon christmas challenge and the paper sundaes bookmark challenge. as always, the images are coloured with distress inks and stickles were added to the centre. thanks for popping by.
Flourishes Jingle Bells

i’ve been so busy and, because of my RA, running low on energy, so it felt good to sit down and create this card today for two flourishes challenges; this month’s bring back beautiful theme is ‘the beauty of a technique.’ i coloured with distress inks, which isn’t new to me, but it was recently featured on splitcoaststampers and is my favourite technique. since the christmas spirit challenge is to create something ‘shiny like a piece of candy,’ i used: striped paper with a shiny gold stripe in it; gold mirri for the circle mat; metallic gold pearls on the embossed snowflakes; and covered the ornaments and bells with glossy accents. one more christmas card done. thanks for popping by.
New Home Tag

i created this tag for this month’s paperlane challenge to use glitz and sparkle. the red heart is covered in red stickles and the dots with yellow stickles; everything is watercoloured with distress inks as usual and i cut out and popped the birdhouse and birds. thanks for popping by.
Scarecrow Treats
this sets a new record for the largest card i’ve ever made; it’s 5 3/4 by 6 1/2.” as usual, i watercoloured with distress inks and put stickles in the flower centre. the stampalot challenge this month is food and it doesn’t say the food has to be nutritious, so candy corn it is. i’m also submitting this to the paper sundaes halloween/fall challenge and the cupcake craft challenge to use buttons and bows. thanks for popping by.
Inspiration Challenge Guest Designer Card

i’m excited to be a guest designer for the inspiration challenge at splitcoaststampers this week. i’ve either been away on weekends or too busy to play, but i love the challenge; stephanie is the hostess with the mostest and always finds interesting sites for us to visit. this week we’re browsing the liberty london site, where i found my inspiration in the colours of this fabric. i watercoloured with distress inks, added stickles to the flower centres, some lace and ribbon and sponging and i was done. thanks for popping by and hope you get a chance to play along.
Teddy’s Fall Fun
it’s been a week since i posted, so i’m playing catch up again; i created this card for three challenges: allsorts bear with us; flower soft fall fun and, for the first time, iheart2stamp’s sketch for you to try (posted below). as always, teddy’s watercoloured with distress inks and i added autumn flower soft and punched leaves. it’s so gloomy today that it’s hard to take a brighter photo; maybe i need a new camera. thanks for popping by.
Halloween Turtle
i made this in honour of linda, aka morningsun47, who was splitcoaststampers’ featured stamper on september 18. i cased this cute card and, as per the rules, changed at least three things: the occasion, sentiment and colours, plus i added the fuzzy ribbon. the image is watercoloured with distress inks. thanks for popping by.
Just Green

i created this monochromatic card (very challenging!) for the flourishes bring back beautiful challenge – the beauty of colour. i used distress inks to watercolour the image and to distress the edges of the card and punched border. i found the pearl-like button in a collection my mother-in-law gave me for cards. thanks for popping by.
Christmas Surprise

this month’s penny black at allsorts challenge is all about getting ahead for christmas, so i made another card to add to my stash. the image is watercoloured with distress inks and letraset aquamarkers and i used plenty of stickles on all the snow. thanks for popping by.
Have You Met Mr. Snow?
he’s one of the new molly blooms’ holiday images that i watercoloured with distress inks for the paperlane challenge to create anything but a card.
i admit that i’m one of those stampers that doesn’t always finish my cards inside, but i had to finish the back of this tag and i did enjoy the sense of accomplishment. :) since i’ve read that christmas is only three months away, i might be ready. thanks for popping by.
