Winter Cardinals

IOCardinals

i created this card for my husband’s birthday at the end of the month; we’re lucky enough to see cardinals year round and no matter what season it is their beautiful colours stand out. i coloured the impression obsession cardinals, K7017, with distress ink pads, as usual, and i’m submitting it to the impression obsession challenge of ‘your choice,’ the hotshot craft CAS challenge, and also the allsorts CAS challenge.  thanks for popping by.

  4. I LOVE this stamp & this card. Have the stamp, but never tried to color with the distress inks. It is BEAUTIFUL. Your shading is gorgeous, and you’ve really captured the difference in colors between the Mr. & Mrs. Your DH will just love his one-of-a-kind card that you made. Gotta love those IO stamps…so sharp & crisp an image. TFS

  5. Oh my gosh, they look so real! You have coloured these so beautifully…I love the golden one…have never seen one myself but would certainly love to!

  6. Wow ! You have coloured these so beautifully. I love the watercolour look the Distress inks give. You are lucky to have Cardinals around, I’ve only ever seen a female IRL.

  7. Your coloring makes them appear so life like. King James will definitely appreciate your unparalled coloring skills.

  8. This is such a great card! I will have to get that stamp, I just love it! Your coloring of these birds is just amazing! Where I used to live there was a female and male that came back every year and hung out behind our house and in our neighbors tree around the side. I loved seeing them. I don’t live that far away now and I luckily face the woods so I can see the birds here, but I can’t have a bird feeder. I love hearing and seeing the birds. Thanks for sharing.
