Fall Friends

the leaves are starting to change colour even though we still have hot and humid weather!

scarecrow and pumpkin card copyright linda snailzpace.com

i’m playing along with the My Favorite Things 2019 Card Design Superstar: Colouring Virtuoso challenge.

i started this card by stamping the centre pumpkin on Arches hot press watercolour paper and masking it to stamp the other two and the scarecrow. first i painted the sky with twinkling H2Os and then all the images from the My Favorite Things Fall Friends stamp set. i fussy cut the hat to add the plaid ribbon, the crow to pop him on the hat, and the leaves from the MFT Harvest Buddies stamp set. i attached the image panel to some purple cardstock and then to a beige base.

thanks for popping by.

Autumn Shadow Box

i thought i better make another shadow box before i forget how.

autumn leaves inside.copyright linda snailzpace.com

the current impression obsession challenge is autumn colours so i used the Autumn Mosaic verse (D5529) on the front, and randomly stamped leaves and acorns in versamark from a clear stamp set, Wreaths & Garlands Fall & Winter (CL84).

i got a bit carried away with the inside but that’s what i see from my window; branches with squirrels scurrying up, down and all over.

The squirrels and acorns were die cut (DIE213-D), then painted with twinkling H2Os, attached to the picket fence (DIE206-V) and the leafy branches (DIE055-N) were added after they were sponged with distress inks.

thanks for popping.

I Love Fall

i really miss creating and i feel like i’m rusty, but family comes first and i did manage to make this tag today.

lawn fawn fall fox copyright linda snailzpace.com

this cute fox from the lawn fawn into the woods stamp set was painted with twinkling H2Os on hot pressed watercolour paper; the sky, ground and speech bubble were sponged with distress inks. i flicked some water droplets into the sky. the sentiment is in the same set but the tag, speech bubble and eyelet were die cut with the new say what? gift tags die set – so cute!

Gilded Leaves

happy thanksgiving to my american friends. i love using gilding flakes for leaves, even if they are a bit delicate to work with; no sneezing near this stuff.

paper smooches leaves.copyright linda @ snailzpace.wordpress.com

i die cut the paper smooches foliage 1 leaves from black glossy paper, added the flakes and attached the panel to a sheet of memory box autumn themed paper bought years ago. the memory box a little thanks was also die cut from the black glossy paper.

Autumn Leaves

our trees are almost bare but just like some of the leaves i’m hanging on to my favourite season so i really enjoyed creating this card. besides, i need a break from mass producing christmas items.

IO leaves.linda @ snailzpace.wordpress.com

the IO maple leaves (DIE030-S) were cut, painted with twinkling H2Os and attached in a circle to paper that i swiped with distress inks to create the look of woodgrain. i cut the thanks from the IO greetings set (DIE174-W) five times in dark brown and attached it.

Penny Black And More Mid October – Autumn Colours

i’m back with a reminder that you still have plenty of time to play along with this month’s autumn colours theme at the penny black and more challenge. i made another halloween card; it’s one of the few times of the year that i use orange, my least favourite colour. :)

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i watercoloured the sky and this cute little hedgie from the penny black ‘scary halloween’ clear stamp set with twinkling H2Os and matted it on a die cut white stitched circle, sponged with seedless preserves distress ink. the image is popped on foam tape against the textured orange cardstock, embossed with the darice fall leaf embossing folder. the sentiment is from the ‘trick or treat’ set.

i hope you’ll come and play along – remember, you can use any company’s stamp for your focal point, just no digis please; a future guest designer will be selected from those who use a PB image and as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won from: Penny Black, PPR Papercrafts, Marianne Designs. visit the blog for some fabulous creations by my teamies.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
simon says stamp monday – wonderful watercolour
kathy’s 30 day colouring challenge
noor! design uk challenge 11 – halloween/autumn
one crazy stamper – Christmas/Halloween/Fall

Giving Thanks

i just had enough time to meet the deadline for the wplus9 Throwback Thursday #7 – Pretty Patches & Country Charm Challenge. Although older product is featured, the stamps are new to me and so cute so i bought them. besides, maureen did such a fabulous job of making her own plaid paper that i wanted to give it a try.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

since i stamped on kraft, it was difficult to get the green and brown inks to show up so i used a ruler and pencil crayon to add those colours; this was so much fun! i popped one of the sentiments from the pretty patches pumpkin set on foam tape after i sponged around the edges with distress ink.

i also made two 3 inch cards with the pumpkin stamp, fussy cut and popped on foam tape:

AutumnPalette3

i watercoloured this cute penny black scarecrow with twinkling H2Os and used some new ones that i just had to have – i rationalized that they’re fall colours and it’s my favourite time of year. for texture i added the memory box die cut pumpkins, also coloured with twinks and then shaped and popped on foam squares.

you’ll want to visit the blog for plenty of inspiration from my talented team mates and tutorials that will be featured every couple of days, so check back often. hope to see you join in!

Autumn Is Here

i’m sharing another CAS card as i’m just making the deadline for the magenta september challenge and the autumn theme. our leaves are starting to change colour and i’m so looking forward to the full range of colours and the cooler temps.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i used distress inks to ink the Magenta Clover Silhouette stamp and spritzed with water before stamping onto watercolour paper; i sponged the edges of the card with the same inks and the splatters were made with a yellow twinkling H2O. the left strip was also sponged and stamped with the Magenta Script stamp.

thanks for popping by.

Thanks

i needed a couple more thank you cards so i die cut some more impression obsession leaves and coloured them with distress inks; the thanks sentiment is a memory box die and the rest of the pieces are my favourite things blueprint die-namics so it all came together quickly.

thanks

i’d like to enter these challenges:

Penny Black And More September – Autumn Colours

it’s the first sunday of september and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge. this month, we’d like to see autumn colours. for my DT card, I stamped the penny black autumn tree cling stamp and watercoloured it with derwent inktense pencils; i used twinkling H2Os for the sky, ground and the die cut letters, which are impression obsession.

Autumn Colours

impression.obsession.fall
we’re starting to see the leaves changing colours and they’re just so pretty, vivid and inspiring; perfect for the colours of fall impression obsession challenge theme. i stamped the I.O. quote, D5529, onto white cardstock and sponged it and the patterned paper with distress inks. all the leaves, DIE030-S and DIE095-D were die cut from leftover watercolour paper that was already coloured with twinkling H2Os for another fall card i made; i just sponged the edges.

i was lucky enough to be the random winner of the $25.00 gift certificate from impression obsession just by playing along with their challenge last month so i chose something for spring because i saw some very cute cards by the design team…

DSC00989

something for fall because i love the larger leaves die i already have and i’m impressed with how deeply they emboss, even the tiniest…

and something for winter because i love snowmen and this snowman on the ground has been on my wish list for some time.

Apple Season

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAIL'S SPACE and described here solely for people with disabilities; an autumn card with orange, red and green background papers, some banners at the top with a sentiment, "mmmmm! apples" and a watercoloured image of two hedgies with apples, one hedgie in a basket
it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge and this month it’s anything goes! for my DT card, i chose this cute penny black ‘hedgy gift’ image because it’s fall, it’s apple season and we just made some apple crisp – yum! i coloured with distress ink pads, cut out the apples, heated with versamark and clear ep and popped them on foam tape. there are some fabulous prizes to be won and you can use any company’s image for your focal point, just no digis. you’ll be impressed when you check out what the rest of the design team did at the blog; i hope you’ll play along.

i’d also like to submit this card to these challenges:
one crazy stamper – autumn
simply create too – fall/autumn
papercraft star – inspiration photo – fall

thanks for popping by.

Thanks

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAIL'S SPACE AND DESCRIBED HERE SOLELY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES; a card with fall colours and leaves in the background with one die cute maple leaf in the centre and black die cut letters on the bottom spelling thanks
welcome to a new follower! thank you for taking an interest in what i create.

i haven’t had much time lately to create or comment: DH has been on vacation and we’ve had day trips, out of town visits to family, i’ve had volunteer work, commissions, taking classes, and prepping a class to teach. there are never enough hours in the day and since fatigue is a big part of my RA, i can’t always accomplish as much as i’d like.

anyway, this is my DT card for papercraft cafe; i used the same impression obsession die cut stencil i made for a recent card, but i added the memory box die cut letters instead of stamping on this one and the colours are a bit different. thanks for popping by; i hope to find time soon to pop by all those bloggers who inspire me, make me smile, and take time to comment.

Penny Black And More September

Penny Black Sunflower
i don’t know where the time goes, but it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge; this month we’d like to see fall colours or a sketch by the talented Brenda or both, so you have several options. i stamped this ‘sunny’ penny black cling stamp with twinkling H20s, added some splatters and used permanent markers to colour the peel off corners to match the distress ink i used to sponge the background paper.

there are some fabulous prizes to be won, along with a chance to be a guest designer so i hope you’ll play along. thanks for popping by.

More Thank You Cards

thank you card with acorn and oak leaf on a circle against a strip of orange and gold paper on a white card stock base
i needed some more thank you cards, so i used the bobunny acorn stamp again, but this time i made a CAS card; actually i made eight of them since they’re all going to different people. instead of colouring with distress inks, i stamped on gold paper and punched the oak leaf out of orange paper and sponged the edges of both. thanks for popping by.

Thankful

card with pumpkin, acorns, oak leaves and thankful sentiment
when i dropped my DT store samples off at papercraft cafe, i found the bobunny apple cider collection and marie, the owner and enabler that she is, showed me the matching stamp set, which i had to have – i love the text and geometric designs. i coloured everything with distress inks, fussy cut the pumpkin and acorns and punched the tiny leaves from the bobunny forever fall collection. i’m submitting this to the bobunny challenge, a sketch by designer Juliana. thanks for popping by.

Autumn Thank You

thank you card in fall colours with maple leaf pattern
i won a package of studio calico autumn papers from the scrapbooker’s paradise challenge on june 8 and i couldn’t have been more lucky; every fall i donate thank you cards for workshop speakers so i followed a sketch by DT member Allison, which is this week’s challenge. i resisted adding ribbon and a bow because they will be for both men and women; now i only have to make 9 more. thanks for popping by.

Guest Designer Card

i am so excited to be a guest designer for the penny black at allsorts challenge this month! not only do i love penny black stamps and the monthly pace, but then i found out it was for an inspiration challenge, which i also love.

photo of fall trees in a park with a red bench and fallen leaves on the ground
this beautiful inspiration photo captures the start of what is my favourite season – finally, cooler temperatures and those rich colourful landscapes.

teddy sitting under a fall tree with three bluebirds delivering cards to him for his birthday
i watercoloured the image with distress inks, added autumn flower soft to the tree, cut and popped the envelopes and of course i added stickles to the flower centres. so, ink up those penny black stamps and submit them by the 28th for a chance to win some lovely prizes. thanks to the penny black at allsorts team and thanks for popping by.

Every Leaf Is A Flower

autumn card in gold and rusty colours with leaves and sentiment
i was inspired by the maple and acorn pattern to make this card for the 300th inspiration challenge, which is my favourite at splitcoaststampers. stef is the hostess with the mostest; she always visits participants and leaves comments, which makes everyone feel welcome to play. i don’t always have the time or mojo, so i was happy i got to have fun today, watercolouring with distress inks and sanding the base. thanks for popping by.
