Ocean Breezes

i created this card for my dad for father’s day and for the impression obsession challenge theme of ocean breezes – beach theme or beachy colours; i didn’t exactly use those colours, but i imagined the view from the beach we used to have fun visiting.

impression obsession sailboats

i painted twinkling H2Os washes on watercolour paper, tore the edges of each strip, attached the layers and then cut with a circle die, which is popped with foam tape to another die cut circle trimmed with blue cardstock strips and twine.

i die cut the IO sailboats (DIE189-C) from red cardstock for the boat that i cut apart and attached to the watercolour paper die cut sails.

i’m also playing along with kathy racoosin’s 30 day color challenge at The Daily Marker; this is day two’s colouring.

thanks for popping by.

Case-ing A CAS Card

one of my house of cards challenge teamies, monika, is celebrating her birthday throughout april by asking participants to case one of her cards displayed in her post and join her LINKY PARTY for a chance to win the prize of a 25$ gift voucher to a store you like.

of course i had to case this cute bunny card:

z Easter Bunny 1

impression obsession bunny thanks

i used impression obsession dies for the bunny, flowers and sentiment, created the background with distress inks, painted the flowers with twinkling H2Os and added yellow stickles to the centres.

thanks for popping by.

Thanks

i needed a couple more thank you cards so i die cut some more impression obsession leaves and coloured them with distress inks; the thanks sentiment is a memory box die and the rest of the pieces are my favourite things blueprint die-namics so it all came together quickly.

thanks

i’d like to enter these challenges:

wags and whiskers: add some leaves
one crazy stamper – anything goes

Penny Black And More September – Autumn Colours

it’s the first sunday of september and time for a new theme at the penny black and more challenge. this month, we’d like to see autumn colours. for my DT card, I stamped the penny black autumn tree cling stamp and watercoloured it with derwent inktense pencils; i used twinkling H2Os for the sky, ground and the die cut letters, which are impression obsession.

Bunny Thank You

one of my daughter’s bunnies had a couple of teeth pulled so i made this card for her to give to one of the vets; he’s a specialist. the impression obsession challenge is clean and simple which is perfect – a masculine CAS card is all i needed. i coloured the background and the IO resting rabbit (D8380) with twinkling H2Os, traced over the grass with a derwent inktense pencil and added flower soft to his tail.

i’m also playing along with 101: watercolour and this week’s theme is fun time; i always enjoy losing myself in my watercolouring.

Colours of Summer

i created this card for the impression obsession challenge – colours of summer and i was inspired by IO design team member kittie; she creates beautiful scenes with so much dimension and attention to detail.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAILZPACE.WORDPRESS.COM

i painted the sky with twinkling H2Os and also painted some swatches of twinks to die cut the small bird set DIE154-A and the flowers and leaves using the petals from the hydrangea set DIE044-Y. i lightly sponged two of the bunnies from the rabbit set DIE168 and used some woodgrain paper to die cut the birdhouse set DIE156-H. i added colour to the bunnies with derwent inktense pencils, yellow stickles to the flower centres and strips of green corrugated paper. thanks for popping by.

Chef Teddy

Wild Rose Studio Chef Teddy

i needed to add a birthday card to my stash so i watercoloured this cute wild rose studio teddy clear stamp with distress ink pads and twinkling H2Os and used a wild rose studio sentiment. the looped heart border is one of the impression obsession dies that i chose when i recently won a gift certificate by playing along with their challenges.

i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:

papertake weekly – ohhh so cute
creative knockouts – colouring show off
feeling crafty – one for the girls/ladies
always something creative – birthday
natalie and amy’s challenge – rubber stamping
papercrafting challenges – my faves are watercolouring cute and whimsical images, dies, minimal embellishments

Easel Card Calendar

easel calendar card

you might remember that i won daniela’s blog candy (stempelbavaria) in february and these mini calendars were included. my creativity schedule usually depends on my RA, but i was voluntold to be on a committee with a very aggressive project timeline until the end of june so my fun time is limited and i apologize for not keeping up with my commenting. i did finally manage to create an easel card calendar and i don’t think the recipient will mind that it’s april already. i die cut the tiny green memory box birds to put at the top and stamped the thanks from the impression obsession hydrangea set on the tab from MFT die-namics blueprints 9.

i’d like to submit this to these challenges:
loves rubberstamps – challenge #100 fancy folds
papercrafting journey  easel card
a little bit crafty – the birds and the bees
crafty hazelnut’s patterned paper – anything goes
crafty sentiments design – fancy folds
craft your passion challenges – pretty pastels

Twinkling Hydrangea

DSC01239
the impression obsession challenge is ‘favourite technique’ and mine is watercolouring. i used twinkling H2Os to create a wash on some watercolour paper to die cut the petals with the IO hydrangea die (DIE044-Y); i painted the leaves and using the same twinks, i painted the edges of watercolour paper to create the mat and had fun splattering the leftovers on cardstock. finally, i added blue stickles to the petal centres.

i’m also submitting this card to these other challenges:
stamp and create – ready for spring
little red wagon – #226 yearning for spring!
virginia’s vew challenge #1 – watercolouring
loves rubberstamps – anything goes

thanks for popping by.

Autumn Colours

impression.obsession.fall
we’re starting to see the leaves changing colours and they’re just so pretty, vivid and inspiring; perfect for the colours of fall impression obsession challenge theme. i stamped the I.O. quote, D5529, onto white cardstock and sponged it and the patterned paper with distress inks. all the leaves, DIE030-S and DIE095-D were die cut from leftover watercolour paper that was already coloured with twinkling H2Os for another fall card i made; i just sponged the edges.

i was lucky enough to be the random winner of the $25.00 gift certificate from impression obsession just by playing along with their challenge last month so i chose something for spring because i saw some very cute cards by the design team…

DSC00989

something for fall because i love the larger leaves die i already have and i’m impressed with how deeply they emboss, even the tiniest…

and something for winter because i love snowmen and this snowman on the ground has been on my wish list for some time.

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAIL'S SPACE AND DESCRIBED HERE SOLELY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES; a card with fall colours and leaves in the background with one die cute maple leaf in the centre and black die cut letters on the bottom spelling thanks
welcome to a new follower! thank you for taking an interest in what i create.

i haven’t had much time lately to create or comment: DH has been on vacation and we’ve had day trips, out of town visits to family, i’ve had volunteer work, commissions, taking classes, and prepping a class to teach. there are never enough hours in the day and since fatigue is a big part of my RA, i can’t always accomplish as much as i’d like.

anyway, this is my DT card for papercraft cafe; i used the same impression obsession die cut stencil i made for a recent card, but i added the memory box die cut letters instead of stamping on this one and the colours are a bit different. thanks for popping by; i hope to find time soon to pop by all those bloggers who inspire me, make me smile, and take time to comment.

Gift Card Pocket Card

COPYRIGHT LINDA @ SNAIL'S SPACE AND DESCRIBED HERE SOLELY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES; gift card pocket card in blue and rust with a thanks so much sentiment
i haven’t had much time for papercrafting lately, but i thought i could make a quick and easy project for the impression obsession die challenge this week; the paper looked like denim so this is what i came up with. i used the house die DIE009-Z, trimmed a bit off the bottom and flipped it to make a pocket, then i cut another one, trimmed it, scored along the edges and popped it on foam tape to hold a gift card. i stamped the sentiment from clear set CL41 and added some gold dots that were die cut from the largest of the snowflake die set DIE024-X because i didn’t have just the right size punches. i added the faux stitching with a fine marker. thanks for popping by.

Colours Of Summer

card with resting bunny in grass and clover with blue, green and burgundy papers and a sentiment of enjoy a relaxing day
this is my entry for the impression obsession challenge – the colours of summer; i went with blue skies, green grass, the colour of crabapple blossoms and the colour of our backyard bunnies that hide under a shrub. i coloured the D8380-CLING resting rabbit with distress inks and added flower soft to the tail and to create clover and added a sentiment from the CL255 riding pretty set. the sheer blue flower is from my stash and i punched the centre from the matching paper and sponged the edge with distress ink. i couldn’t take a photo of this card yesterday because those other dark gloomy colours of summer appeared, along with a thunderstorm. when i checked my updates last night, i read that impression obsession is having a blog hop with flower soft; honestly, my DH will verify that my card was done yesterday – too funny. anyway, gift certificates will be given out for Impression Obsession and Flower Soft so you might want to check that out.

i’m also submitting this card to a little bit crafty challenge where the theme is something sweet; i know, sweet treats and candy come to mind, but bunnies are the sweetest creatures. thanks for popping by.

Bloom Where You’re Planted

floral thank you card in pink, green and ivory
i’ve been very busy with volunteering so i haven’t had much time to create lately, but i managed to make this card for the impression obsession challenge to ‘bloom where you are planted.’ i coloured the image from the Spring Medley CL465 set with twinkling H2Os, distress inks and stickles; the sentiment is from the Thanks Sentiments CL41 set. i rounded the corners, added a bow and it’s another thank you card for my stash. thanks for popping by.

In The Air

card with two chickadees on a branch, a hanging birdhouse and a home is where the heart is wording
i created this card for the Impression Obsession challenge; this week’s theme is in the air. i used the chickadee stamp, C8589, die cut with the matching birds die, DIE003-A, made branches out of the stems of the hydrangea set die, DIE044-Y, and also used the hydrangea set die for the flowers. i stamped the birdhouse from the winter cardinal set CL301, (very cute and half price!) cut it out and popped it on foam squares; everything is coloured with distress inks, twinkling H2Os and watercolour pencils and of course i added green stickles to the flower centres after i sponged the edges of them. the paper sections on the bottom were cut from some DP. thanks for popping by.

I’m Thankful For

house shaped card in beige, red and turquoise with front door and two windows die cut, a row of flowers at the bottom of the house and a rolled up newspaper at the front door
while i have many things i’m thankful for, i’m focusing on just one for this week’s impression obsession challenge. as i’ve mentioned before, i have severe RA, which makes daily living activities difficult, not to mention how the fatigue slows me down; however, DH is a tremendous help around the house and he always supports my need to create and encourages me along my card making journey. so, even though he has a stash of my cards, i made this shaped card for him. i used two impression obsession dies from my recent IO blog hop win: DIE009-Z the house and hydrangea for the flowers, which i sponged. i also used the door and window die, added a gold pearl for the doorknob and a rolled up piece of text paper for the newspaper. thanks for popping by.

Impression Obsession Challenge Card And Prize

orange card with two yellow and orange daisies
i created this card for the current impression obsession challenge of ‘flowers for you.’ i heat embossed the double daisies E88925 stamp in white, coloured with distress inks and added the wish you sunshine sentiment B5536 on the side panel.

i was very lucky to have won a prize during the impression obsession blog hop last month so i thought i’d share a photo of my choice of three dies:

photo of three impression obsession dies

of course i had to get the hydrangea stamp set to go with the matching die…

impression obsession hydrangea cling rubber stamp set

and then some bird dies to go with the house…

impression obsession bird die

and some miscellaneous stamps to go with all of the above. thanks for popping by.

Springtime Fun

card with bunny planting carrots and sentiment with oh happy day!
i’m playing along with the ‘springtime fun’ challenge at impression obsession; i thought this gardening bunny having fun in his carrot garden suited the theme – i’m still trying to decide if he’s planting or digging up. i coloured the image, Easter Bunny CL212, with distress ink pads and added a sentiment from Mini Messages MC176. thanks for popping by.

All About The Dies

kraft paper bookmark with fall striped paper, a teal maple leaf die cut and edged with gold shimmer paint
impression obsession
had a blog hop last week featuring their dies and i was lucky enough to be a random winner of three dies of my choice, which was tough after visiting the designers’ blogs – there are so many enablers out there. :)

anyway, i made this for the current ‘all about the dies’ IO challenge.  i probably would’ve coloured this leaf from the IO leaf die set (DIE030-S) with distress inks, and i actually have a pile die cut and ready to do that for fall, but i was inspired by daniela dobson’s card and her designer paper leaves. after die cutting my teal leaf, the edges were painted with twinkling H2Os and sponged with distress ink (just had to get inky with them). i stamped the bookmark with IO take time (D5512), created a pocket for it and attached the leaf to the striped paper. thanks for popping by.

My Favourite Technique

copyright linda @ snail's space and described here for people with disabilities; christmas card with large pink poinsettia on green background with pink border and pink, orange and green striped strip along the right hand side of the card
the impression obsession challenge is your favourite technique – mine is colouring with any dye or water based products; i coloured this impression obsession poinsettia H8301 with distress inks and twinkling H2Os and i also used some of my other favourites: pink and green, stickles, texture and making christmas cards. the sentiment, enjoy the splendor D6165, is also an impression obsession stamp. thanks for popping by.

What’s Your Hobby?

butterflies in spring colours with a pink rose at the bottom right
in response to the current impression obsession challenge question, my one and only hobby is card making, specifically, stamping and colouring. severe RA (rheumatoid arthritis) forced me to give up all of my creative outlets until i discovered i could stamp and colour, which is my favourite technique. i love colouring with a traditional paint brush and anything dye based, especially distress inks, which is how i coloured this impression obsession Butterfly Group F8123 stamp. thanks for popping by.

Shades Of Green

card in green with flowers and wishing you many lovely tomorrows sentiment
welcome to my newest follower and thank you for taking an interest in what i do! i created this card for the impression obsession challenge of shades of green. i don’t usually put sentiments on the fronts of my cards – they’re crooked (stamp positioner won’t work with curved blocks), they smudge because of my hands and uneven pressure or they just don’t fit in. this impression obsession stamp, #C8559, is so pretty that i wanted it to be the focal point. after i die cut the flowers, i sponged the edges with shabby shutters distress ink and added some stickles and punched leaves. thanks for popping by.

Winter Cardinals

IOCardinals

i created this card for my husband’s birthday at the end of the month; we’re lucky enough to see cardinals year round and no matter what season it is their beautiful colours stand out. i coloured the impression obsession cardinals, K7017, with distress ink pads, as usual, and i’m submitting it to the impression obsession challenge of ‘your choice,’ the hotshot craft CAS challenge, and also the allsorts CAS challenge.  thanks for popping by.

Waiting For Snow

christmas card with snowman in snow globe with purple toque and purple papers with white snowflakes
i’m always making christmas cards, although i make more than i actually need so i usually donate some to my local hospital. i coloured this older impression obsession snowman with distress inks and letraset aqua markers, die cut with the memory box snow globe and added a peel off sentiment, punched snowflakes and tiny bow. i’m submitting it to these challenges:
sandra’s rudolph day – the 25th of every month
jingle belles – holiday bingo and i used bling, stickers and ribbon
crafty ann’s – christmas in august
christmas stampin’ all year long – non traditional colours
challenge up your life – christmas in summer
thanks for popping by.

Pink Daisies For Class

this is the other card that i taught yesterday in my watercolouring with distress inks class at papercraft cafe.  i only had two participants this time, but it allowed for more individual attention.  it was a lot of fun; the ladies were so enthusiastic and it was nice to see how happy they were with their cards. the impression obsession daisies were over stamped with the penny black text background and the punched border is made with my new ek success punch; i love it.  thanks for popping by.
