i haven’t had much time lately to create and i *really needed* to but my mojo seems to have disappeared, so i got a jump start from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club 165 sketch. i used my new MFT UPSY DAISY DIE to make the flowers and leaves, which i shaped and sponged. the colours remind me that spring is on its way, even if we still have record amounts of the white stuff on the ground. thanks for popping by.

Blue Hydrangea
i was commissioned to make a card for someone who saw my pink calla lilies card and wanted something similar but in different colours. the hydrangea is in the same stamp-it australia set as the calla lilies and available at crafter’s companion; they stamp beautifully and i love the detailed thin lines. i watercoloured the image with twinkling H2Os, added stickles to the centres and die cut the embellishments out of gold mirri.
i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
city crafter – #181 give thanks
cards galore – flowers
stampin’ for the weekend – anything goes
one crazy stamper – thankful/autumn
thanks for popping by.
Pink Calla Lilies
i created this card for the september crafter’s companion challenge theme of embossing. i watercoloured the calla lilies from the Stamp-It-Australia Floral Fancies stamp set (available in the US) with twinkling H2Os; i used the same twinks to create some matching mats with watercolour paper. i embossed a portion of the green paper, sanded the debossed side and added the memory box die cut ribbon slide. i decided not to put a sentiment on the front so i can use it for any occasion. thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More – Mid Month In The Garden
this is my DT card just to remind you that you still have plenty of time to play along with our ‘in the garden’ theme this month at the penny black and more challenge; and remember, you can use any company’s stamped image for your focal point, just no digis please. as always, there are some fabulous prizes to be won plus a chance of being a guest designer.
i coloured this cute mouse from penny black garden critters with distress inks and twinkling h2os, added stickles to the butterfly, die cut the sun with MFT die-namics and added a sentiment from penny black micey day clear stamp set.
i’d like to submit this to these challenges:
little red wagon #198 – use a sun
kreativeinkauf – summer, sun, beach

Garden Inspiration
a warm welcome to a new follower! thank you for taking an interest in my creations. the august magenta challenge theme is a garden party colour combo based on some beautiful garden photos. i water coloured the magenta wildflowers image with twinkling H2Os and added stickles to all the flower centres; the sentiment and tag are from flourishes.

Bloom Where You’re Planted
i’ve been very busy with volunteering so i haven’t had much time to create lately, but i managed to make this card for the impression obsession challenge to ‘bloom where you are planted.’ i coloured the image from the Spring Medley CL465 set with twinkling H2Os, distress inks and stickles; the sentiment is from the Thanks Sentiments CL41 set. i rounded the corners, added a bow and it’s another thank you card for my stash. thanks for popping by.
The Bee’s Knees
i made most of this card on sunday, but i wasn’t able to finish it, take a photo or type until now because of a severe RA flareup that i’m still recuperating from. i’ll probably slow down a little bit, if it’s even possible to go slower, but it’s so difficult not to create; i fell behind in everything again and hope to stop by soon and get caught up on some commenting.
anyway, i’m playing along with the sketch n stash challenge with the option of wings – items from my stash include one and a half year old stamps and papers, four year old punches and brand new memory box precious heart dies. i coloured with distress inks and used plenty of stickles.
i’m also submitting this card to these challenges:
try it on tuesday challenge – feminine and fancy theme
one crazy stamper – flowers
whimsy inspirations challenge – anything goes
natalie and amy’s – things with wings
thanks for popping by.
Dogwood Blossoms
i’ve had this stamp for quite some time, but just inked it up to make another spring card. i coloured with twinkling H2Os, used the memory box bird cage die and a MS punch around the page; of course i added stickles to the flower centres and the edge of the sentiment circle. i’d like to submit this card to these challenges:
make my monday – anything that flies ends may 11
moxie fab world – the wonder of watercolor ends may 13
crazy amigo – birds ends may 13
simon says stamp – things with wings ends may 14
no matter which – things with wings ends may 30
crafty calendar – blooms and blossoms ends may 31
thanks for popping by.
Best Wishes
this is my May DT card for papercraft cafe, where owner marie keeps well stocked in memory box dies and i used three on my card: the antique birdcage was coloured with antiqued bronze distress stain to match the bo bunny little miss papers; i used matching paper to die cut one resting bird and the tiny flowers from the floral delights die. of course i added yellow stickles to the flower centres. this was a fun card to make and came together very quickly.
i’d like to submit it to these challenges:
die cuttin divas: anything goes ends may 5
really reasonable ribbon: sparkle, bling and ribbon ends may 12
thanks for popping by.
Impression Obsession Challenge Card And Prize
i created this card for the current impression obsession challenge of ‘flowers for you.’ i heat embossed the double daisies E88925 stamp in white, coloured with distress inks and added the wish you sunshine sentiment B5536 on the side panel.
i was very lucky to have won a prize during the impression obsession blog hop last month so i thought i’d share a photo of my choice of three dies:
of course i had to get the hydrangea stamp set to go with the matching die…
and then some bird dies to go with the house…
and some miscellaneous stamps to go with all of the above. thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More – April Mid Month Post
this is my second DT card for penny black and more and you still have plenty of time to play along too with april’s theme of blossoms and bows since it ends May 1.
i started this card by creating the centre panel; i stamped one of the silhouette images from the penny black illumination (30-048) clear stamp set with brilliance purple ink on purple cardstock, over stamped in white and added liquid pearls; i used the same image as my focal point and punched some tiny flowers to attach to the image. you can see more inspiration from the rest of the design team at the challenge blog and i’d love for you to play along – you can use any company’s stamped image for your focal point, just no digis. and, as always, there are some fabulous prizes from sponsors Penny Black, Classy Crafts, Crafty Ribbons plus a chance to be a guest designer. thanks for popping by.
Magnolias
this feels like the longest winter and it seems to be taking forever for spring blossoms to appear, so i decided to colour my own flowers while i’m waiting.
i coloured the flourishes magnolia image with twinkling H2Os in my favourite pink/green combo; i also punched some eyelet borders with my favourite ek success punch and added a 1/8″ green ribbon next to it. i’m playing along with the moxie fab world tuesday trigger, which provided an inspiration photo of magnolias. i’m also submitting this to the pretty little ribbon challenge – spring is in the air and the papercraft star challenge to use a stamp.
ETA: i’m also submitting this to the moxie fab world wonder of watercolor challenge. thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More – Blossoms And Bows
this is my DT card for penny black and more and april’s theme is blossoms and bows. i coloured the penny black pansy bunny (40-066) with a brush, distress ink pads and twinkling H2Os. edited: i made the double bow with my bow easy and seam binding. you can find some amazing inspiration from the rest of the design team at the blog and i’d love for you to play along – you can use any company’s stamped image for your focal point, just no digis and you have until may 1. as always, there are some fabulous prizes from sponsors Penny Black, Classy Crafts, Crafty Ribbons plus a chance to be a guest designer.
i’m also submitting this card to these challenges:

at least it’s supposed to be spring now isn’t it?! i followed the sketch at the sketchy challenges to create this card, coloured with distress ink pads and i’m submitting it to these challenges:
marianne’s design divas – at the bottom of the garden
joanna sheen – come rain or shine
alota rubber stamps – springtime
crafty ribbons challenge – anything goes with a ribbon
thanks for popping by.
Pink, Pearly And Swirly
it’s the first sunday of the month and time for a new challenge at penny black and more; this month’s theme is ‘pink, pearly and swirly.’ for my DT card i embossed the floral image (PB flowers sweet 30-096) on a pink background created with distress ink pads on watercolour paper and painted the flowers with liquid pearls. you can see the rest of the design team’s beautiful cards on the blog, along with the easy challenge rules – use any company’s stamped image as the focal point (no digis are allowed) to be in for a chance to win some fabulous prizes from sponsors Penny Black, Stampalot, Crafts U Love, Flonz. you’ll also have a chance to be a guest designer if you put GD after your name. hope you play along! i’m also submitting this to the addicted to stamps challenge, which has a theme of pearls and swirls. thanks for popping by.
Dreaming Geraniums
i created this card because marie, the owner of my local stamp store, papercraft cafe, asked me to make some samples for a home and garden show that she’s participating in. i thought this cute penny black ‘dreaming geraniums’ would suit the occasion so i coloured with distress inks as usual, added yellow stickles to the flower centres and added a rafia strip to the bottom and threaded it through the button. the sketch is by the very talented Silke Ledlow, who is hosting this month at crazy 4 challenges. thanks for popping by.
Acrostic With Magenta
magenta’s 20th anniversary july challenge is ‘acrostic with magenta.’ i printed mine on magenta paper, matted with magenta papers and distressed the flowers, leaves and edges; this was such a fun project to create – english was always my favourite subject. i admit to not being able to live by this philosophy, especially this week – you know the ones where anything and everything goes wrong? bleh. thanks for popping by.
Poppies
brenda (floral fantasies) is having a fun candy challenge to make a card or project that has poppies on it, hints at the colour or idea of poppies or an has an image coloured in with the beautiful poppy colours. i’ve had this penny black poppies stamp for some time, but this is the first time i inked it up; it’s coloured with distress inks and letraset aqua markers with stickles in the flower centres and i used my new memory box butterflies die – i love it! i cased a layout in paper creations summer 2012 by the talented kendra sand. thanks for popping by.
Humming Along
this month’s flourishes bring back beautiful challenge is the beauty of winged things, so i used stamps from the ‘humming along’ set. everything is coloured with distress inks and cut out and then i shaped the hummingbird and popped it on foam tape. thanks for popping by.
Magenta On Vellum
i’ve been playing along with the magenta monthly challenges in celebration of their 20th year and the june challenge is to use the colours of their logo. i stamped this magenta image on blue vellum, heat embossed and coloured with distress inks, which is what i enjoy doing most when i create; even if it’s just a little bit while i’m waiting for my RA flareup to disappear, so i’m also submitting this to the stampalot challenge ‘what’s your crafty passion’ theme. i couldn’t get a photo to show the embossed detail, which looks so much better in real life. thanks for popping by.
Neon Flowers
i chose the colour challenge for this month’s hero arts contest and used distress inks to ink up the stamp and then to colour the flowers; the image is popped on foam tape – a clean and simple card and very quick to make. thanks for popping by.
Penny Black And More Summer Blooms
this is my DT card for the July Penny Black and More Challenge; this month we want to see Summer Blooms. i used a new penny black stamp from a clear set called flowers sweet, coloured with distress ink pads and added some mottled dots with my paintbrush. the other DT members’ beautiful creations and the challenge rules are here; there are some fabulous prizes to be won from sponsors Penny Black, Stampalot, Addicted to Stamps plus a chance to have your card chosen to be in the spotlight. thanks for popping by.
Flourishes On My Desk
the flourishes timeless tuesday challenge this week was ‘from the desk.’ i usually create with other people in mind or causes that i donate my creations to, so i made something for myself this time – a post it note holder and a bookmark for my desk. i used distress ink pads to colour the sunflower and cut it out to place on the post it note holder, but i used coloured pencils for the bookmark. thanks for popping by.
Just A Flower
this is a clean and simple card just to kick start my mojo and i’m submitting it to the paper players in celebration of their 100th challenge; i chose #81 – flowers and the stampalot bingo challenge; i chose purple, turquoise, and handmade flowers. thanks for popping by.
Purely Pink
i really struggle with monochromatic cards, but i’ve been playing the monthly magenta challenges in celebration of their 20th anniversary year and the may challenge is to create a monochromatic card in magenta (pink). i heat embossed the image in white, coloured with distress ink pads and sponged around the image, which is popped on foam tape. thanks for popping by.
The Beauty Of The Rainbow
the flourishes bring back beautiful challenge this month is to use at least three colours of the rainbow; i used red, orange, yellow, green and blue. i coloured the image with distress ink pads and sponged the embossed/text paper with matching distress ink colours before i cut the oval to layer on top of the image. thanks for popping by.
My Garden Favourite
this month’s flourishes bring back beautiful challenge is to pick your favorite flower (or fruit or vegetable) and make it the centerpiece of your card or creation. it’s so hard to choose a favourite, but i love the hydrangeas for their big showy pom poms, especially the blue ones, and all the texture. i coloured with distress ink pads and used the out of the box technique to die cut it and of course i had to add blue stickles to the flower centres. the background is tim holtz ranger distress core’dinations paper that i embossed and sanded and i found this clear four petal button in my stash. thanks for popping by.
Shaking It Up
this is my second attempt at this shaker card, which is the challenge this week at the allsorts challenge; the flower soft wouldn’t move on my first try, so i had to double the tape. i’m also submitting it to joanna sheen’s challenge – flower power. thanks for popping by.
Potted Flowers
i needed a couple of thank you cards and stephanie luman was kind enough to grant me permission to case her flower pot card found here – thanks stephanie!
the inside is blank because a group of people needed to sign it. this was a fun card to make and is very quick to put together, which was great because i didn’t have time to paint any images. thanks for popping by.
Simple Thinking Of You
i created this clean and simple card for the march magenta 20th anniversary challenge to use magenta stamps for the background; it looks wonky, but it’s straight. i’m still waiting for my computer’s techie people to fix my photo editing problem – i’ve been patient, but i might just have to purchase a program and send them the bill. lol. anyway, thanks for popping by.
The Beauty Of Spring
the flourishes bring back beautiful challenge this month is the beauty of spring or autumn, so i went with spring and used the out of the box technique on the floral image. everything is coloured with distress inks, as usual, and the hummingbird was shaped and popped on foam dots. thanks for popping by.
Digging Spring
spring is finally here! i missed the longer days of sunshine. although i no longer garden because of my RA, i can stamp and colour floral images; this is coloured with distress inks as usual and the edges were sponged. i’m submitting it to the penny black and more at all sorts springtime challenge and the joanna sheen spring is in the air challenge. thanks for popping by.
Front and Back Flourishes Challenge
i just got this done in time for another flourishes noon time challenge; the theme is to use the same image in the foreground for your main image as you use in the background, which sounds simple enough. this one took me much longer than yesterday’s noon time circles challenge card, but racing against the clock is fun. i coloured the image with distress inks. thanks for popping by.
Going In Circles
this is my submission for the flourishes noon time challenge to use a circle as a base of your card; the image is coloured with distress inks and layered up – quick and easy. thanks for popping by.
Flourishes Pinter-inspiration
the flourishes release week challenge is a ‘pinter-inspiration’ – the colour palette is just so pretty; i never would have put them together otherwise so i’m glad i played along. as usual, i coloured the image with distress inks and sponged the tag and background paper, which is already embossed and makes matching colours so easy. thanks for popping by.
